Sypniewski takes leave of Malmö

Allsvenskan side Malmö FF have announced that they have terminated the contract of Polish striker Igor Sypniewski after only eight months. Sypniewski was signed as a replacement for Peter Ijeh, who left for IFK Göteborg at the end of last season, but never settled in Malmö.

Prahl problems
Sypniewski has had problems on and off the pitch and did not enjoy the best of relationships with coach Tom Prahl. Malmö FF director of sport Hasse Borg said on Thursday: "The club has done everything we can to help him but unfortunately it has not been enough and we can't do anything more now."

Breach of contract
Malmö FF took the decision at a board meeting on Thursday and posted a message on their official website which read: "A player who doesn't fulfill his obligations to the club is deemed to have committed a breach of contract and in this case Igor Sypniewski has done so. His contract will therefore be terminated on 30 June 2004."

Larsen move
Elsewhere in Sweden, Djurgårdens IF have signed Søren Larsen from Brøndby IF on a three-year deal. The 22-year-old striker, who has been loaned out to Frem this season, has signed a three-year deal with the Swedish champions
