Just wondering lads anyone else think its stupid not to be selling this years gear last year took until the end of the season last year for anything to go on sale..

What makes it worse for me is that they have the gear out in knoclasheen just refuse to sell it i know this because a relative of mine asked about buying a tracksuit and was told no that they wouldnt sell em until they sold off gear they wanted to get rid of from years ago. But one of the lads kept going out to knocklasheen and asking about it and managed to buy this years tracksuit.

Should it really be this hard just to buy some gear?

Have to agree with you. The club is looking way more professional and acting it in most facets. In this particular area we are failing miserably. I even picked up the Munster soccer jersey because all that was there was the old Limerick stuff and the gear the players used to wear. It comes across very unprofessional. The best advertising you can get is from people walking the streets wearing the gear. I think there is a demand. Just look at the amount of people that wear the old jerseys (errea) or the scarfs at matches. People want to show their colours but with the poor selection most don't bother buying stuff.

Cork, Derry and Shamrock Rovers (and most of the premier clubs) have their fans all walking around in their gear and its great to see. It adds great colour to their support. The biggest market for selling gear and merchandise is to the kids but they don't seem to be really catered for. Its great to see the Academy kids in all the stuff but you rarely see fans with any nice gear. Its one of the places where if done right a nice bit of income can be created also.

Was told a while ago too by one of the lads taht he ordered a tracksuit at a pre-season game and still hasnt received it they are basically turning down money when they have the gear out in Knoclasheen in boxes what could the excuse be?

Is there anyone in charge of this side of things within the club id like to know.

I have to agree with a lot of what has been said. Although not at home right now, last season I would have liked to pick up some kit but the selection was so poor. Those Liverpool vs limerick scarves were around all last season. I don't give a f**k about Liverpool!

They got in normal Limerick scarves with 2 home games to go last year thats just not good enough.

Club Merch has been a farce for years now, the year we had the shop on Davis ST and one of the years in Hogan Park when Danny Drew had a shop there were the only times it was anyway decent.

I remember going over to buy a jersey few times in hogan park after games that year and it was so busy I waited till the next game to pick one up. When I did finally pick one up the stock was decent enough. There was definitely demand there. Also the time we where Errea the gear wasn't great but it was short sleeved and there was plenty of stock. Lots where buying stuff at that time too.

The SC done up some decent polo shirts at the start of the year and they sold well, still a few knocking around if anyone wants one.

Must get one off you and also pay membership. Seen them around they look well.

For the past 2-3 years they have been blaming Umbro. Then why get Umbro gear again this year? They can't sell jerseys so far this year because we don't even have a sponsor. Need to get someone in there to do that side of thing for the club because as Jofspring said it only takes a few people around town to be wearing jerseys to get people talking about the club and promoting interest. Has anyone checked out this page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Limerick-Football-Club/93574368885?sk=app_112224982135009

I know they say Umbro are great with supplies to the first team A team etc.... But the supporters being able to buy stuff is as important. I saw mentioned by one of the lads that if a sponsor isn't got a charity should be put on it. Its a great idea and at this stage I think it should be done. A lot of people would like to see something like that on a jersey. From what I've seen Shamrock Rovers don't seem to have problems getting gear from Umbro, same goes for Dundalk, Galway, Bray, St.Pats, Bohs etc....
