Already a thread on him, already established he's not Irish. The reference on the wiki says nothing about Irish parentage. What a strange wiki to vandalise :confused:

The Wiki article says:


Born in Liverpool, John was born to Irish parents Peggy and Eoin. Eoin who also played for Liverpool Youths, ended up playing for Tranmere Rovers.

After a quick search on Google, I can't find any mention of an Eoin Flanagan having ever played for Tranmere, so I'm guessing the whole thing might well be made up. Peculiar all the same.

This article would seem to support the Wiki bit that his dad played for Liverpool.
