Brendan Kennedy: 8
First sighting of Brendan at Tolka this season, and he didn't disappoint. Plucked several dangerous crosses off the heads of opposing forwards and made a brave save at the feet of Cronin, which left Brendan prone on the deck with a facial injury. Perhaps slightly at fault for Myler's heartbreaking equaliser.
Pierre Ennis: 7
Flawless on his return to the first XI.
Keith Foy: 7
Much better than last week. Supported Brendan intelligently and performed his defensive duties in a surefooted manner.
Paul Crowley: 9 - Man of the Match
Stand in centre-half, standout performance. One suspects that Paul enjoys playing in central defence because it gives him the opportunity to launch into those satisfying, thunderous, but invariably well-timed, tackles. City's joint longest-serving player, and the embodiment of what every Viking should aspire to.
Wes Byrne: 7
A smidgen less assured than his last game in central defence, but never looked a liability by any stretch of the imagination.
Cathal O'Connor: 7.5
Poor Cottsy didn't see much of the ball for the first hour, as City focused their attacking play down the left flank, but was instrumental in the push which led to City's goal. Remarkably adept at winning the ball with subtle nicks away from the player in possession. Unlucky not to score on two occasions, but shouldn't have crossed the ball into Rogers' hands towards the end, an act of silliness which allowed the Drogs' keeper to launch that fatal hoof upfield.
Killian Brennan: 8
Drogheda-born Killian is currently acting as a winger/target man, and is probably the only practicioner of this position in senior football. Whether haring for the line or cutting infield, he always looks likely to create something. Superb cushioned teed up Gary O'Neill for a stunning goal.
Dom Tierney: 6.5
Decent against his former club. No more than that.
Jason Colwell: 6
Played a valuable role as the midfield anchor, but touch and technique not up to scratch.
Gary O'Neill: 8
Gary was having one of his quieter games until he decided to rocket a twenty-yard half-volley into the top corner. A special player capable of sudden and unexpected brilliance, one of perhaps ten such players in the entire league.
Philly Hughes: 7.5
Service to Philly frequently was frequently overhit due to the wet surface, but he chased it anyway. Probably posed more problems than Neiller on the night. Denied a clinching goal by Rogers' brilliant save late on.
SUBS
Robbie Collins: 6.5
Energetic in his brief time on the field.
Barry Burke and Ray Scully not on long enough to rate. Barry playing on the left of midfield was a bit of a strange one.
