Just a quick question. What is the format for promotion this year? Am I right in thinking that next season there will be 12 teams in the premier? If so, what's the situation with automatic promotion and play-off places?

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.

1st and 2nd are automatically promoted and 3rd will play second from bottom in the premier. This is one of the best chances to go up with two automatic places.

Cheers for that Jofspring. You are dead right, a great opportunity to get promoted and return to the MF as a premier side. Having said that, we really need to pull the finger out to get there. Hopefully we can put a run together before the end of this series and begin to move up the table.

But i think the play off position (3rd) is only a one game format and the game takes place in the premier teams (3rd last in prem) ground.

It is last in the premier v 3rd in the first. No automatic relegation.

I said in United Park at the pre-season friendly we'd be back for the playoff. I'd take that now.

Dont think it will matter anyway unless we win the enxt 3 games.

It's against the last in the Prem and I think it's two-legged with a coin toss to decide home advantage in the legs. Or else it's a coin toss to decide the venue in a one-leg game.

think its a home game(one leg) for premier club

10th in the premier v 3rd in the first.

Definitely a two legged playoff with the home team for the 2nd leg not determined yet (eg not definitely the premier team). I assume a coin toss. Leaving Limerick bias aside I'd strongly fancy the first division team in this.

Same could have been said this time last year I suppose.
