Ballybriggs - Grand National.

Well not many post here, I actually managed a winning bet for a change
although I am saying it after the event ;)

I had BallyBrigs at 14-1 EV and also Calgary Bay at 33-1 (fell) (half the stake).

I went back to what I used to do when backing - look for a name I like, helped to have Jamie McGuire on it. Too many horse to look at the form off so I am away in a bug panic trying to make my mind up before the off.
What clinched it for me was I just noticed he had won a race with a big field (24).

£8.75 profit for my £1 stake, take 50p off for the losing Calgary Bay = £8.25 up!! :cool:

1. Think you meant Ballabriggs not BallyBriggs.

2. You probably meant E/W as in Each Way, as opposed to EV.

3. The winning Jockey was Jason Maguire not Jamie McGuire.

4. After-eventers always win, please let us know about the Scottish Grand National before the race on Saturday.

I fancy Always Right at the moment. 7/1 looks a bit on the skinny side though.
