Ferocious smash-and-grab by Wexford in Jackman tonight as goal in injury-time by Shane gave Wexford the three points in what was a battling, if not pretty, performance. Limerick had dominated for long periods but couldn't score despite their many chances. With Anto injured and Grinny suspended, Wexford started Packie, Gareth, Karl, Wolfie, Murt, Kevin, Patsy, Craig, Ben and Danny and Darragh up front. Best chance of the first half fell early to Limerick when O'Flynn squared but the oncoming forward shot over with only Packie to beat. Wexford's only real chance of the half then fell to Darragh when a long corner came to him in space beyond the far post but he volleyed over when a bit of composure was called for. Game then fell into bit of low period with Limerick dominating but creating no chances although O'Flynn looked clever up front.

With ten to go, Limerick had another free volley which went straight to Packie and then, just before the blow, a Limerick forward was straight through but didn't put enough on his shot from close range and Packie palmed it away for nil-nil at half-time. Second-half started with a free-kick by Danny which was on target but saved comfortably by Barry Ryan and then O'Flynn flicked the ball over Packie but it went just wide. Hynes then came on to join O'Flynn up front. In a rare attack by Wexford Ben had a thirty yard shot which curled wide. Patsy then got a yellow for a late challenge on the Limerick keeper and was immediately substituted by Greg. A few minutes later, Shane came on for Kevin. In the last fifteen, Wexford's goal had a bit of a charmed life with Packie saving low and then a Limerick forward shooting over when well-placed. Packie then pushed a good header away just as the ninety minutes was up with Muzzi coming on for a limping Danny.

Just as Wexford looked to take their first point, an aimless ball was let run behind them by two Limerick defenders wide left, which left Shane in space about thirty out. He calmly chipped the keeper with Barry Ryan in no-man's land for one-nil to Wexford. Whistle went a few minutes later after five minutes of injury time. Couldn't single anyone out in huge committed effort by all the Wexford team and was 100% improvement on the previous effort against Mervue. Limerick look very useful up front but I don't think their pitch does them any favours while Judge did well in midfield when he came on. One-nil to Wexford at full-time.

Yeah, only three subs tonight and no reserve keeper. Squad looks pretty thin but I suppose some of the U17s could be pressed into service if needed.

I know an issue with Sean Allen (sub keeper) registration and Eoin O'Shea has left to join the army also Max Cream has left the squad. Robert Dempseny and David Miller (u17 player) are registered and where not on bench also Killian ??? has been brought into the squad
