I'm not going to tag to the existing thread, Want to get some conversation going about some other aspects of the game.
Firstly, did anyone apart from the lineman see the Alan Murphy incident?
About the game. Sean Prunty was a massive loss. From the few games I have seen this year Della Prunty has linked well with anyone who has occupied the flank beside him. I really think that a Baker - Prunty combo on this flank is the best option and the thing about it is that it looks like its each players strongest and most influential positions, they have no equals in their respective positions either.
Another point I'd like to forward is that we didn't play anything through the central positions and I'd like to think that Dean Fitz will take time to integrate into this position, we haven't had a player of his calabre at the club in some time. (Stewie anyone?)
The two worst players on the field were withdrawn at half time. We can't say that Matthews didn't act. Nothing went right for either Dillon or McGovern and I don't need much more convincing that McGovern isn't a comfortable player with ball at feet. Barry lead the line well, the only defender to come out of the game with much credit. Both goals conceeded in McGovern and Dillons patch. Murphy is week in the air.
Alan Kirby, Pip Keogh and John Martin didn't show up. Kirbs is having a mare of a season. Baker and Barrett didn't get much of a chance and Barretts touch and pace are well of what it can and should be. Eric Lavine was lively when he came on but Lavine (on his fifth arrival) has to be patient on the field when he gets his chance. Barrett and Francis should have started.
From the personnal who were out. Gary murphy would have been a better shot on the left than Martin. Team tonight should be:
Digger, Dillon, Prunty, Barry, McGovern, Francis, Deano, Vinny, Baker, Barrett, Lavine.
