I have some friends that are heading over in April for a few days. I've been out of the loop for too long, so can anyone recommend some decent hotels, in or close to the city center?

Thanks in advance.

Jurys have a few well placed ones that are not too dear.

Mercer Hotel (1 minute walk from Stephen’s Green.)
*Central Hotel (Exchequer St, 2 minute walk from Grafton St)
Harcourt Hotel (Harcourt St, 3 minute walk from Stephen’s Green)
*Cassidy’s Hotel (Cavendish Row/Parnell Sq East, 1 minute from O’Connell St)
Lynan’s Hotel, O’Connell St
Jury’s Christchurch (5minute walk to Grafton St) and *Parnell St (1 minute walk from O’Connell St)
*Academy Plaza (Findlater Pl, 1 minute from O’Connell St)
*Holiday Inn (Pearse St, 10 minute walk to both Grafton St and O’Connell St)

Living in Dublin, I haven’t had any reason to stay in any of these, but the ones marked with an asterisk are ones I’ve had coffee/lunch in, and found alright.

Can't vouch for it in Dublin, but the Hotel Isaac's I stayed at in Cork was a nice place, and good value. It's also one of the most convenient places to stay in the city, being right beside Busaras.

A recommendation if they're cheap...I found the booths in the airport food court to be quite comfortable, the only problem is they wake you up at 4:00 AM so customers can come in.

Thanks for the info folks. Just FYI, the Mercer is closed for business apparently.
