Allow about an hour - on the local train but a fair bit out and in a not so nice suburb of Amsterdam - ground is fabulous though. Can't remember the stop name but it is very obvious.

yeah we got coach out to the ground took about half an hour. On train it takes about half an hour but give yourself a good bit of time with the crowds going .

Yeah well i arrive in Rotterdam at 16.05 and it takes 50 mins to get to Amsterdam so i would say it will be about 18.00 by the time i get there, Have to drop my bags off in the centre. It will be tight but I think i will make it.

You make the place sound awful!
To get to the ground, come out of Central Station via the main entrance. Look for the sign for the Metro. Head down the steps and purchase a return ticket by following the simple instructions on the machine. Jump on the metro and hey presto you're at the ArenA. It's out in the middle of nowhere so don't worry about what type of a suburb it is.

With regard to bars, The Tara on Rokin is another good one that's packed with Paddies on match day.

I can't for the life of me remember but it wasn't that long.
I'd say 35 minutes or so. Strandvliet/ArenA Metro station and Bijlmer Metro station are about 5 minutes walk from the stadium. There are regular direct services from Central Station in Amsterdam. The Metro lines are 50 and 54.

I'd say 35 minutes or so.
Don't forget the 30mins queue to get into the ground.....very badly organised last time. 4 turnstiles for about 7000 Irish fans.......
