Don't forget that City might still get a place in the UEFA cup via the fair play places.

The draw is next Tuesday 8th June. 2 countries from 12 (including Ireland) will be picked and get an extra UEFA Cup spot.

City will be Ireland's representatives if we are picked.

unfortunately those figures are slightly out of date. the latest are

Sverige 8,296
2 Danmark 8,277
3 England 8,222
4 Norge 8,194
5 Finland 8,123
6 Ukraina 8,118

8 Armenien 8,051
9 Spanien 8,026

They will be updated the days before the draw so Ireland could sneak back in but at the moment we arent in the draw :(

they became members of UEFA the season before last. they had teams in last years uefa cup and champions league qualifiers.

their national team is in the european section of the wc qualifiers. they changed over from the asian confederation.

a small bit of kazakhstan is in europe. bohs could meet a team from there in the uefa cup. what bohs fan would fancy a trip to th gobi desert :D

Out of curiosity on what site did you get the up to date list?

The Fair Play points system seems complicated. Surely since no Irish national team or clubs have competitive games between now and the Fair Play draw we should be ok to be in the draw.

I think that once a country's Fair Play score is over 8 it is in the draw, unless they have limited the number of countries.

i think it includes friendlies as well so Irelands match against Jamaica would count. Anyway seehere (http://www.myjavaserver.com/~kassiesa/forum/view.php?topic=20040504103138.txt). Go to the bottom for the most up to date news

UEFA:s Fair Play-ranking 2003/04
Slutställning 31 maj 2004
- topp-12 (nationer med >8 poäng i snitt)
1 Sverige 8,314
2 Danmark 8,231
3 Norge 8,206
4 England 8,204
5 Tyskland 8,135
6 Ukraina 8,134

8 Finland 8,089
9 Spanien 8,056
10 Albanien 8,032

Sweden's Öster have won the fair play place in the uefa cup. all nations with an average greater than 8 (11 countries this year) are entered into a draw for two further uefa cup places.

i'm not sure what I want to happen.
i think I would fancy the UEFA
Malmo isn't the kindest draw to us for the inter-toto (as they play a summer league too to start with).

Those Andorrans are always fierce dirty :D

If we get a UEFA place we could up end somewhere like Ukraine or Kazakstan plus it would mess up travel arrangements for those going to Malmo.

Malmo is a convenient draw for fans (the result is a idfferent matter).

I'd say better the devil you know.

PS Has anyone told St Pats they have a 2 in 11 chance of playing in the Inter toto?

I also don't think those people who already had to change flight details but fancy doing it again.

no need to change anything, St.Pat's will be playing there and in need of support if we go to UEFA ;)

actually, on that, would it cost much to transfer flights to a new name, might be a way for city fans to recoup some of the expense if they don't want to travel

St.Pat's will be playing there

But where will St. Pats play their "Home" game?
They have been awarded an 'A' Licence provided they use an alternative licensed stadium for European games.

as the original draw was for malmo to be at home first, I wonder will pats be as obliging at city to malmo's request for a switch........it could end up being a non football weekend all together... :(
