Despite the narrow scoreline, comfortable enough win for Cork in the end with Wexford putting in a good shift in which Packie was outstanding in a match which was delayed ten minutes due to crowd congestion outside. Wexford started with same XI as in previous two matches with Packie, Karl, Anti, Wolfie, Murt, Shane, Craig, Greg, Ben and Muzzi and Danny up front. First fifteen was fairly level with Cork's first chance coming from an ambitious overhead volley. Wexford also applied a bit of pressure early on and Ben got a yellow for a dive in the box.

Cork then took over the half and should have gone in front when Packie flapped at a cross and the ball was headed wide when it was returned into the box. Packie then held onto a drilled shot from wide right and came out really well to smother another Cork forward's effort who was clean through after a nice bit of Cork inter-play. Packie then pushed another shot from the left over the bar and Cork's goal then came one minute from half-time when a cross wasn't cleared in the Youths box and Sullivan tucked it away to Packie's right for one-nil at half-time.

Second-half began with twp early Cork chances when a cork forward got onto the end of a long ball but he touched it just wide of the post on the stretch with Packie advancing. A free far-post header was then tamely lobbed over the bar by another Cork forward. Game them deteriorated a bit and Wexford brought on Patsy for Muzzi after about the hour mark and Grinny and Max Cream as a double substitution with twenty to go for Greg and Ben. Only real half-chance then came to Grinny who almost latched onto a through ball but McNulty smacked it clear just as Grinny tried to get it under control. In last few minutes, Cork centre-half got second yellow for another lunge but Wexford couldn't take advantage and it finished one-nil to Cork with over 2,100 being stated as the official attendance.

Best for Wexford were Packie and Patsy when he came on - mystery to me why he isn't starting. Cork look very strong up front with Cummins and Sullivan. Major problem for Wexford is how quick the ball is coming back from our two young forwards although like the rest of the team, they couldn't be faulted for effort.

Forza, was this Max Cream character any good? He's been around the block a few times according to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Cream. Do you know how he ended up playing with us?

In the photo on Wiki it shows him wearing a Cobh Ramblers top. By the looks of it, it's against Sunderland at Turners Cross. It doesn't mention it in his list of clubs though.

Max only got about 20 minutes against Cork and got very little opportunity to shine so it's too early to tell. Came on wide left and looks as if he has some pace at least. Not the biggest.

Understand that he is living in Cork so I can only guess that Wolfie or Greg was the link. Noel seems to have wide contacts as well.
