the LOI blog constantly plagiarise without crediting their sources. I've seen them take articles from club websites and print them word for word on their own site but remove any reference to the website they took it from.

Admittedly, I've only been aware of the existence of the LOI blog for for a relatively short period of time, and I see quite a number of people dismissing them on Facebook. While I don't condone the plagiarism of material, and anyone that does it rightly deserves to be shot down, I'd like to know what exactly gufcfan was on about?

I know in Harps case that press releases usually match our website content exactly and that various sites use them without altering them, which is fine.

The worst thing about the LOI blog is that they pretend they don't still do it. Was linked to stuff posted yesterday that was plagiarised. They even accused someone of plagiarising an article of "theirs" that was a press release from a charity.
Any coverage of the league is good but they are no real asset imo.

Right I'm not usually one to reply to this kind of thing but I'm not having that. The incident you refer to was a column piece we did with Ger O'Brien in which he told of how he had suffered a heart condition at the start of his career. This was a the same time as the Fabrice Muamba incident so we decided to team up with CRY (cardiac risk in the young) to help promote and fundraiser for them and part of that was them publishing a press release which included our quotes (it credited us) with Ger O'Brien which we agreed to and had no problem, but then another site came along and took those quotes without crediting us so that's where the problem lay.

As I've said mistakes we made in the past but if you look at our current site it's all done to the book and we are going to continue to do it the right way and prove people wrong and that's all I will say on the matter.

Your blog continues to steal photographs. I have seen your blog once since last year and the page contained a stolen image. You can't just rob something and say where you took it from. It doesn't work like that.

Might be the only person to compliment you here, but fair play with the site. The UI is top notch. Quick question though, is there any way of getting an RSS feed for it?

Mods, would it be possible to create a list of the local radio stations/internet streams for the clubs that have some sort of live match day commentary. Just off the top off my head:
Sligo: http://oceanfm.ie/
Derry City: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radiofoyle, http://live.drive105.co.uk/
Cork City: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/cork-city-live-match-streaming
Dundalk: http://www.dundalkfm.com/listen-live
St Pats: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/st-pats-live-commentary

We don't have an RSS feed but if you enter your email on the site you will be signed up to our news letter. Thanks for the comments.

You could get a better Joomla template for $10-$20 a year than that imo.

Not terrible, but not great by Bray.
There's a couple of desperately bad websites in the League of Ireland, Shamrock Rovers being one I think is absolutely shocking for the size of the club. But there are couple of excellent ones too, the likes of Limerick and Harps having two very nice ones.

Rovers don't have money for a proper website, we're too busy outbidding other clubs for squad players.
The link for the Sligo rovers forum is dead.Whats the new one ?

Not really. A few reporters went to pundit arena and scrapped the LOI Blog altogether.

Sligo's website was bizarrely hacked this morning by a group of Palestinian activists known as Fallaga keen to spread their message to the good folk of town: http://balls.ie/football/sligo-rovers-website-hacked-pro-palestinian-activists-morning/
