Well, as seen as Week 1 Predictions are already well underway, I just want to draw people's attention to the scoring system here:

And also to mention that you can PM your predictions to me, instead of putting them on the thread, if you so wish. I will publish all predictions when the said matches are completed.

We had some tactical stuff towards the end of last years comptition which I felt needed clarification. In the early days all predictions were via PM. Still, I'd much prefer if all predictions go on the thread, but the option is there for people if required.

I imagine tactical stuff does come into it towards the end of the season alright, but surely that's the lesser of two evils here.
Predictions sent by PM are going to have the whiff of cloak and dagger about them, and at the very least would make it awkward for you to play yourself.
If you had the time to do it maybe you could accept PMs but publish them on the stroke of the deadline each week, could that work?

Not sure why there should be any whiff of cloak and dagger about anything. Quite simply the option is there should people want it. For the first 30 odd rounds - use the thread!

Not for a second trying to cast any aspersions, by the way, I know you're diligent and scrupulous and make monks look mendacious, just that I know from experience of doing these, online and at work.

Didn't mean for it to come across that way really, I appreciate what you are saying - i'll try and get someone we can nominate when the time comes that players can PM to, as well as myself - just for that extra bit of verification. Should only really become an issue if it becomes a close contest in the latter stages. Appreciate the feedback. I'd like to keep the option of PM open to avoid tactical scoring in the latter stages.
