Just a few comments on the state of our current panel.

CONCERNS
- Flynny is clearly either still carrying an injury, or is terribly unfit ( unlikely ) and should not be playing in my opinion ( just as much for his own sake as the team ). It could put him back another 6 months.
- Fenn needs to sort himself out. Judging from the critisism from a large portion of City fans last night he'd have to score the winner in the Cup Final, 4 minutes into injury time to win them back over now. In this League you need to have more than fancy flicks, ( definate ) skill - you need bottle and passion - Liam O'Brien comes to mind.
- Bennet has settled in well now but big question marks over Byrne ( great heart but displayed poor judgement at times last night ). Where was Dan?

POSITIVES
- Murphy ...... absolutely brilliant
- George ...... in great form
- Woodsie, Colin T, Nawankwo, Greg playing very well
- Devine ...... back to his best

THE FUTURE - BRIGHT OR GLOOMY
- Super Kev should be back soon ( hopefully in time for Malmo - or even earlier ). One of the stars of the season so far.
- S O'Flynn.......need some news on him. When will he be back? How long before he's match fit and contributing? Could be a good addition to the second half of the season.
- Hoggy on the mend but will struggle to get his place back IMO.
- Gamble, Nugent, Deane all potential new signings but how effective will they be? Only time will tell.

One thing is for sure our bench looked very young and inexperienced ( and small ) and realistically the only one that was capable of coming on into that type of game last night against these thugs was Sweeney ( who I think will be a good player for us in time ).

VERDICT
Definately bright but we're still short the final few pieces of the jigsaw. The opening of the transfer window will be crucial in a few weeks and will determine a lot.

One last comment - well done to Dolan on the size of the panel. With all the injuries we've had we would have been playing our U-21 Team at this stage if we had benn like Bohs, of Pats. Definately the unlukiest team in the League with the number of injuries so far.

At that rate it will be August, realisticaly, before he wil be pushing for a place in the starting 11.

That's a long way off yet ........... pity.

Then people would ask why he didnt do it 15 minutes earlier!
