Gets very foggy up there from time to time, especially in the morning, very stange that it attempted to land twice and then tried again.

Very sad, rte now reporting 3 dead and 3-4 still caught up in the wreckage.

Just seen pictures, Only way anyone could have survived is if they were sitting at the back of the plane.

plane is upside down and the only area not crushed is down by the tail.

Will try upload pic.

A Barcelona airline was operating the flight, Flightline BCN.

Mad to think that two people walked away from it.

Sorry now for straying from the direct point, but RTE must be in a bad way if they need to break from regularly scheduled TV for what... 2 hours for this? The information available at the end of their "special" was exactly the same as at the start. A ticker would have produced exactly the same result.

From what I heard, it was too foggy for the plane to land with the on-board systems they had. It seems to be a combination of mistakes by the operator, and air traffic control. Still early days yet though.

I got in an argument with some people on www.not606.com who thought it was hilarious to joke about it. Tossers!

Hope my mum hadn't heard this news before her flight to Florida or she would have been freaking.

No speculation on who's to blame here please. Wait for the report or an authoritative opinion, or do your own speculation in the pub.

(That means someone who actually knows what they're talking about. No-one in the Irish media qualifies.)

Martin McAleese's cousin is amongst the dead. The nationalities of the dead were...

3 x UK
2 x Ireland
1 x Spain (the pilot)

Good point. Unfortunately it's where all the Stoke fans from the old 606 board are, so I'm trying to stick it out. Not easy when the "general chat" board is full of people who think "freedom of speech" means "slagging the handicapped on the internet doesn't make me a ******".

Anyway, back on topic. My deepest sympathy for everyone affected by the crash.
