Anybody at the Rovers V Celtic XI on monday and take notice of this guy?? there is a video 'best bits' up on you tube and looks impressive. Are Rovers going to sign him or is the jury still out on him??

How about a link to the vid?
And isn't there a Shamrock Rovers forum for this?

Should this not be in transfer rumours thread or Shams forum?

:-) Ah least the milloins you got for offloading him softened the blow :-)

Read a little bio of him that made me smile. he's on loan at some Aerbajani team from his local Jamaican team.
Can't imagine too many career paths like that.

My Sincere apologies for the incorrect filing of this topic in the wrong place and possibly on the wrong website, I should be more considerate(!) Nice to see everybody so friendly on here!!!
The Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8_tfRTB8HA
pretty much some up spudulika's opinion really

In fairness he looks pretty handy. Some unneccessary skill but entertaining all the same. Has a bit of speed from the looks of it and can spot a pass.

Not as odd as it seems. Scouts get a good profit from bringing players to countries in the east, especially ones who can entertain, if they're any good they end up moving to one of the bigger regional leagues (Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria), though to Ireland is a big leap :-)
I realise the idea. I'm just pointing out that no one so far has made that journey
thats because you made up a country. Aerbajan?

Seems a skillful player alright. But looking at the clips I was thinking two things - 1. was anybody ever going to tackle him and 2. if Danny Ventre was there he'd have him cleaned out of it.

Redobit, it's like the old Dad's Army, he wouldn't like it up him! Usually these guys are very impressive, very fast and unless they're really quality, a few belts and they drift out of the game.
Dodge, with you 100%. From Baku to Belfield (assuming he signs), or actually if Shamrock Rovers draw Finn Harps in the cup it'll be Baku to Ballybofey, I'm sure Setanta will do something on it, or at least Mooney Goes Wild will :-)
Well the Baku to Belfield thing has been done (Joe Kendrick). its the Jamaica to Dublin (via Baku) thats interesting ;)

Good point :-) Apparently some Azeri contracts are mega, both themselves and the Kazakhs are looking to spend their oil and gas revenues to get sporting fame. It's working for the Kazakhs.

Preistly came on for the last 30 mins on monday having only arrived in Dublin 24 hours earlier. He struggled to get involved but once he did he showed some nice touches including 2 great defence spitting balls, one of which would've resulted in a certain goal if Dean Kelly wasn't chopped down Harald Schumacher style by the Celtic keeper. The crowd was certainly lifted by his cameo, definitely worth a second look

Thanks Verdebianco, hope he gets another chance as he looks quite creative and fast from his little video.

Didn't look great against us tonight, full of stepovers and fancy touches but never really did anything with any of them. Committed an insane amount of ridiculous fouls too. Was that chap actually a keeper that was in goals for the 2nd half? Bizarre stuff.

Rovers didnt look great in general, until Kilduff came on and could have had 2. Dawson looks a good player for Shels :( That keeper was a legend too ;) Never seen somebody look to be running so fast when actually barely moving haha :D

Not a bad game as far as friendlies go I thought. In the first half I thought we were better anyway. Made some of the Rovers players look average at best. Dawson particularly impressed. Deano Delaney in goal was top class as usual.

His fellow Jamaican Thompson has signed along with two others, would that mean Priestley is out of the running or do they want to see him against Waterford before deciding?
