Hi all,

I’m looking for writers who want to contribute pieces to an online LOI fanzine I’m planning. I’m looking for a mix of funny, irreverent pieces, more thoughtful or even whimsical articles, and a smattering of serious ones.

Essentially, I’m looking for anything and everything that relates to LOI football or to your club- satirical articles, straight articles, one-liners, photos, rants, raves, alternative histories, Aertel mistakes, funny chants...your very own fanfic where you and Sean Connor finally get it on after taking Athlone to the league title.

Opinions are very much appreciated; the stronger the better.

I’d also be especially interested if anyone was able to draw cartoons, either one-off, or recurring.

Ideally, it would be great to have people who can contribute regularly but I’m happy to take one-offs, random thoughts and sporadic contacts if the articles interest me or make me laugh. So long as it’s one or the other, you can write about next years title contenders or the history of the darts board in your bar.

While the emphasis is heavily on LOI football, there is room for some pieces on the broader footballing world. Again- just make it interesting and/or funny!

Any length is fine.

If you have anything you’d like to contribute, want to write but are unsure what to write about, have some ideas, or just want more information, PM me on the forum or email me on fanzineloiATgmail.com. :)

Thanks!

I would like to contribute to the site, might be not every week, but when I can. I'm good enough at drawing but I take ages!

Just draw a picture of a man in a football shirt with his cap out begging for money outside FAI hq with eyes peering through the blinds.

Leave the colour of the shirt blank until the inevitable happens at some club at some stage.

I meant to comment on this last week. It's very good. Well done, thischarmingman. I like the Neale Fenn cartoon. How often do you intend updating it?

Thanks bm, glad you like it. There will be weekly (at least) updates to the site and the best way of keeping up to date with it is to subscribe to the Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/weplayonfridays) or the Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/We-Play-On-Fridays/176520942395933). While I have this opportunity, I can't emphasis how much we rely on volunteer writers, so if you or anyone reading this fancies a go, please get in touch at info@weplayonfridays.com.
