Is there anything each way? Pat's top three mightn't be too bad; Bohs' odds are ridiculous if meltdown is as imminent as it seems, and I reckon they're stronger than Dundalk and maybe Fungus too.

Once again. odds given by bookmakers are not equivalent to the chances of it happening.
The odds are designed to make the bookmaker as much as possible, nothing more, nothing less.
My own view is that Derry is probably the only value there (assuming e/w odds of 1/4 the price, first 3)

Bray e/w - they're not the weakest team in that list at this moment in time.

Until all squads are complete, I dont see much relevance in these odds in term of who is the strongest, apart from 1/Rovers 2/ Sligo. I would agree Pats are smiliar to Dundalk, Fingal too appear to be getting a side together so they wont be far off both either. Bohs 3rd favs is the obvious one sticking out a mile, they will drop to below Derry once their squad is announced.

How Bray can be behind both Galway and UCD at this point is just lunacy.

Derry look the only value there for me.
Pats and Dundalk worth an interest bet too i reckon.
In reality only Rovers can beat Rovers this season. (ooh cryptic)

Got Dundalk E/W at 20/1 on PaddyPower minutes after they signed Byrne and Quigley. Real value.

I don't think those 2 signings make up fr last years shortcomings (and the players that have left)

It's hard to look past either of the Rovers' but Dundalk seem a good outside bet.

CSFShels, like a good few of our own fans got the early 20/1 that was on offer for Dundalk. Its not a huge market so some €50's/€100's on the nose or eachway, coupled with the signings of Byrne and Quigley ate into the price fairly quickly. If we can secure some good CB signings i can see it coming down again.
BTW the Setanta cup odds went the same way,Dundalk opened 20/1 and are now 14's.
Dundalk peoples likes their bets

Wouldn't be backing us till we see the CBs as you say. The re-signing of Miller would be a big positive if it happens. Foster is definitely talking down our chances anyway.
Better mid-table than bust.

I'd see Dundalk's main challengers for at least a top 3 finish coming from Pat's and maybe Derry but hard to say when I haven't seen Derry play.

I agree !!! Especially as we currently only have Simon Madden & the totally inexperienced Nathan Murphy as defenders, I think I`ll wait to see who he brings in as the two central defenders and a left full to judge how strong we are. The defence last year was really poor overall, and we were most weak in the middle, so hopefully we`ll have better quality for 2011 there.

Rovers' are quite rightly favourites but I don't accept they are going to have it all their own way. Boh's obviously are going to fall away and might not be in the same division. Sligo should be in a strong enough position to challenge as should Dundalk. It's hard to look beyond these three. Derry and Pat's are likely be top half.

Bohs too short odds and Derry too long odds are standout features for me. Unless there is no relegaton bray cannot finish last :(

We need about 6 good signings to justify our price at the moment.
seriously, i said it earlier, the value there is still Dundalk. Get a bit on at 14's or 16's.

Think the price for sporting fingal is a tempter, personally.
Rovers need a centre back and a keeper of some description and then we should go course and distance.

The BOR are too short on signings so far and I am not convinced by Shams at levels, I will try and lay the pair and have the rest running for me at 5/2 or better, I expect things not to settle for a little bit and maybe look to trade out with a profit after a few games and keep a little piece of liquidity in the exchange markets for the season for the sake of interest.

Whats the story with Mannus?
Derry e/w has got to be the best bet there although Rovers at evens is good odds IMO free money, Bray to be the surprise package this year, might finish 5th

Dundalk now down to 11/4 from 10/1 after the Belfast demolition job, and probably those new players joining last week.

Each way bet at 10/1 was good value last week (after Hawkins, Bolger, Maher news), but 11/4 is hardly any value at all.
Hoops & Sligo well ahead of us in squad terms, Pats have a bigger budget ( and probably more signings to make), and Bohs (despite their €250!!!! budget) will be competitive along with Derry.
Doubt Pats will have a bigger budget (and not getting into one of those arguments either)
Really hope I'm wrong though as we need strikers.
The hawkins/maher signings huge for Dundalk

This was my mistake, I meant to put 'reduced from 10/1 to 15/2'
Still quite a drop in price

Bray are 20/1 to finish bottom. Surely value at that price?!

I can't see Bray finishing below Drogheda, I'd expect them to be ahead of Galway and UCD as well. Very unlikely to be bottom, I'd say 20/1 isn't far off.

Drogs have no manager now either. Certainties to finish bottom I'd say unless they bankrupt themselves on players first.
