Brian Barry Murphy (Sheff Wed): "Spent 18 months with the Owls. Barry Murphy hoped to earn a new deal but the 25 year old was handed a free transfer. Has offers from Eircom League but wants to stay in England".

Ken Coleman (Kidderminster): "Cork-born defender, played 13 games for Jan Molby's kidderminster last season but is now on a free. Linked with Cork city".

RICHIE FORAN (Carlisle Utd): "Released by religated Carlisle, Foran is in demand with offers from four clubs in Ireland, but he may try and find a new club in Britain, with intrest from two in SPL".
Ok so they didn't mention you but he's a striker so its possible...

David Freyne (Nottingham Forest): "Midfielder let go by Joe Kinnear at Forest, he's already had talks with Cork City were David's dad Patsy was a playing legend but david wants to stay in England".

Joe gamble (Reading): "On a free from reading, the midfielder turned down an offer from Cork City.

Joe O'Regan (Coventry): Kerry Lad who was freed by Coventry over Christmas. Has attracted the intrest of Eircom League clubs but the 19-year-old wants to stay in Britain",

We made him an offer, he turned it down. Not interested in moving back to Ireland apparently, although a bigger contract than that which we could wave at him may change his mind.

maybe if a proper club tried to sign him.. ;) ...think he'll stay in england tho..


as for all the links....they're all cork lads, so city are bound to be linked...

Gamble and barry-murphy would both be good signings. Dunno enough about the others, but no way would we need or want Thug Foran

It's one of the perks of being a big club, everyone wants to play for us whether we want them or not is another matter! :)

I don't think Gamble turned down a contract offer from us. He seems very interested in coming, he wants to move back to Ireland and he said to some paper that he would "like to become the best player in the LOI"

I still reckon Ferguson meant to sign Richie and ended up with the wrong bloke.
Richie would have scored more goals thats for sure and thats including suspensions..

Mirror says Adrina Deane also signed
Negotiating with David Freyne & Ken Coleman.
