Have Dowling and Reilly definitely signed? I know Dowling came on but Reilly wasn't mentioned in the revised team sheet? Agreed with the comments above I thought we did well and look to be reaping the benefits of having a bit of stability for the first time in a few years. Conlon is a potential weak link though it has to be said. We're still waiting on a work permit for Rouse before he can play an official game for us, let's hope that comes through without any hitches.

Good performance last night and we never looked outclassed. While Conlon did miss kick a few times the pitch was very bobbly in fairness but even his kick outs were poor but we never seen Rouse tested so its hard to know whats going to happen between the sticks this season , The goal was quality Conlon hadn't a hope and yes it was a penalty Hylo clipped the strikers heels but we should have scored ,
was a bit disappointed with the roaches last night , Lee seemed to let the ball hit his head more than head it had he done that it might have gone in. I thought the back 4 looked solid last night and hope looks like a great signing and Deans is the perfect captain IMO.
With Skelly and Cowan still to come back hopefully we will be banging in the goals
2011 SEASON HERE WE COME!!!

I asked Graeme Dowling and Daniel Reilly that question when we were getting the photos taken with them for the match program and getting the penpictures. They confirmed to me that they have definitely signed for us.

Gonna be a competitive first division again this season, again I would take us finishing higher up the table than last season as progression, small steps and keep our house in order. One game at a time and here's hopin its an enjoyable season

It'll be hard to finish ahead of any of Monaghan, Cork, Shels, Waterford and probably Limerick. After that we should be able to compete with everyone else. So 6th or 7th would be a decent finish. Keep building the squad and running the club the right way.

yeah i'd take 6th or 7th anyway and sure who knows what we could do in the league or fai cup even giving the leinster one a go would be nice.
and well whats the story now that fingal hit the wall are mons gona go up or whats happening, i heard from one of the cork foras lads that drogheda applied for a premier license if they got it thats cat..
this is probably up in the premier/1st division topics but i can't be arsed reading that crap anymore

Pending appeals, Monaghan are up and Galway are in the A League. Drogs remain in the Premier too. So it appears to be a 10 team First Division now, whether we play each other three or four times remains to be seen. We got a Premier Division licence no bother so well done to those involved.

compeltely up the creek at the moment. dont forget monaghan for now are up? theres talk of havin a ten team league with each team playing each other four times instead of three so of course the fixture list would have to be shredded. the abbottstown ***** were fools in the first place to issue a fixture list too early?

I know it was only a friendly but last nights win over pats is sure to fill the entire squad with confidence......it wasn't a great game due to the weather but I have to say we played well and just like vs Derry last week we looked more like the premier division team.
And we still have players like skelly to play so this could be a great season especially with the league the way it
is.......impressed with morley btw some player

Video works fine. Onto the game, we played very well, kept the ball down considering the adverse conditions, Pats were poor but who cares about them it was a really encouraging performance from us. 4-3-3 formation suited the players we had on the park, plenty of positives to be taken from it. Plenty of youth and passion in the side, hopefully we take that performance into the league campaign.

1-1 it finished at Dalymount.
Morley was brilliant, I'm delighted we've signed him. Nice finished from Cowan for the goal. He also played well.
Piotr Szczerbowski also played well I thought. Very simple player, and good tackler.
Oladele played well too when he came on, up front on his own. Dowling was good too.
I had my heart in my mouth every time Collins was called upon. I'm not sure about him.
I was disappointed with Lee Roche. Wasn't at much at all. I'd say his pass completion was about 30%.
Oladele
I thought we were very good. Lots of good stuff from us, nice passing and some great defending and keeping.
Other than that we should be very happy going into the new season.

I think morley has great ability, delighted to hear he done well tonight, very positive results in the pre season, here's hoping we carry the same form into the new season.. We seem to have a decent squad with competition for places which is a bonus too

Skelly is Austins younger brother thats all i know, Dont know anything bout Lynch he looked poor though, he played left full. McCrossan didnt do too bad would like to see him again get a proper look.

21/02/2011, 10:51 PM
Thought he might be a brother alright. McCrossan was always solid enough for Monaghan from what I can recall.

I think Brady's injured isn't he? Austin Skelly is injured too. No idea of what's up with them or when they're back.

Another fantastic performance from the lads last night TC has assembled a squad of footballers that like to get it down and play and I'm buzzing for the new season now.
That goal should do Don the world of good he might start banging them in now, thought Alvin Rouse was fantastic last night too cant wait now.

I was for one was very impressed with the performance. We were excellent in the first half and not as effective in the second half due to all the changes made. I heard the same thing too about Shaun Skelly being let go by Fingal. Morley was class for yet again and Rouse saved us a few times. I am delighted Don Cowan finally broke his duck. I am going to ask around today and find out who is Kevin Lynch so leave it with me and I will get onto my contacts...

Apparently Lynch was with Sporting Fingal under 20s.

You're probably right Longfordian. There was a Kevin Lynch who played left back for Sporting Fingal U-20's last season so it must be him.

I am a tad disappointed as a few of us were making a weekend of it in Galway. We cant go to Salthill now until early july. I will have to amend all the fixtures thats in my diary. i think the FAI must be feeling like fools for releasing the fixture list way too early. One consolation though is that Shels home game is a good starter to the new season and hopefully there will be a good crowd going to it.

Aussie's brother was on the Irish Schools team that won the Centenary Shield last year, along with then Town players Robbie Benson and Tom O'Halloran. Couldn't tell you anything else about him though.
