God I hate the off season. :(

Where is UpfortheMacooni when you need him?

He'd be the man to start real interest threads, like "3 favourite sub goalies" or "Best Physio in the League"

How long till the league starts again?

3 times, and hated his after the game comments, 1 was when we were badl robbed with the given of the peno then not given, then had the perfect goal disallowed. Just never liked him, even in all his interviews boring, boring man

Ohh God his interviews would put you to sleep but seems like a nice bloke and he did well enough with Bray over the years so i have alot of respect for him and I rate him quite highly

Love
- Rico, what a character, he may be a shams **** but he is endlessly entertaining
- Roddy, adore the man, some day I will get a photo with my hero, make a wish foundation style.
- Ian Foster, real nice guy and a gent, gets too much stick tbh.

Hate
- Despise O'Neill, snivelling spineless little rat, and what is with that perpetual slime that seems to be always dripping from his head, its not water, its to oily to be water.
- Dermot Keely, from a player to a manager he didnt lose all the qualities that made him a ****.
- Felix Healy, what a ********, rarr rarr rarr your **** felix and nobody cares.

I like these pointless pre season threads people be going mad over opinions that have no relevance to much going on at the time.

Best physio in the league definitly Salthill's

I was at a UCD game against Cobh a few years ago, Myself and a few friends were standing beside the Cobh dugout for the second half and Hill just came over to us and started to have a chat with us while the game was on, Only stopped to abuse the linesman the odd time, have always liked him since

Funnily enough find this difficult - not too many managers p**s me off lately.

Three most like

Nutsey - for all the success he has had at Bohs. Sound bloke as well.

Paul Cooke - sound bloke, good manager.

Roddy - like him / hate him should be on both lists but God is he entertaining.

Not liked

Rico - pretentious clown

Seanie boy (Connor) spoofer supreme

Pete Mahon - good manager but ALWAYS moaning

I'll go with 4 of each, if I can.

Favourite -
Rusty (obviously). Honorable mentions for Pete, Martin Moran and the Doc.
Alan Mathews - Apparently recognised a UCD fan in work and was asking about us gatecrashing the C&D Foods Christmas party a couple of words previously.
Stephen Kenny - no particular reason. Maybe just for doing well with Longford.
Paul Cook - plays decent football; is usually refreshingly up front and honest in his interviews too.

Hated -
Doolin - Duh.
Keely - How many people has this man put off LoI? Those who were near me during our 2-2 against Shels last year will know my full feelings on him. :)
Fenlon - moany little whinebag
Roddy - Duh

All managers are spoofers.

Some are just bigger spoofers than others. Most believe their own hype such as Richardson, Roddy and Connor which cumulates in people loving them and hating them in equal measures.

Others portray themselves in the media as complete whingers like Fenlon and Mahon who despite their success, are widely disliked.

Occasionally, there are managers who just damn good. Stand up Paul Cook.

Rico- 2005 , do i need to elaborate ??
Alan Mathews - Seems a great manager, had great intentions for us before it all went pearshaped .
Paul Cook - He's got Sligo playing a nice brand of football and it's now made them one of the best teams in the LOI.

Dislike :
Roddy
Fenlon
Sean Connor .

Fenlon is disliked because of his success. Mahon is just disliked, cant remember him ever winning anything.

Like:

Rico - decent bloke. We played some lovely football under him.
Alan Mathews - a decent manager. I would have liked to see how he would have did if tings didnt go tits up.
Paul Cook - has Sligo playing a great style of football and a decent chap to boot.

Dislike:

Roddy Collins - comes across as an absolute p****. This person didn't want a player of Dan Murrays calibre in the club. Takes credit for every decent player in the league even if he's never heard of them.
Paul Doolin - Negativity is his middle name. His style or lack of is ard to watch.
Pat Fenlon - He's just incredibly unlikable.

Yea, I guess he would be a bit of a hero to most in that he was just a local home grown manager and worked his way through the ranks and went on to international management and even got a bit of success, but he ****ed me off when I was watching Setanta's 2010 Sports Review.

First he had a go at Rovers for allowing the leagues better players go abroad. Somehow he thinks Rovers should of given these players the inflated wages they were getting at the clubs who could previously "afford" it, just to keep the players in the league! Surely with his attachments to Pat's, you'd think he'd know by now how taking the road ends up.

Then he thinks Sligo should get team of the year. Don't get me wrong, I do like most things about Sligo and they were a top team this year. Their a great club, play great football, good fans, and actually nearly have the whole package for a LOI club. Maybe it just slipped out of his mind or has some bitterness towards the FAI. But with the work he's done with underage setup's, I was just shocked he didn't even have a word for the Ireland U-17 girls team. What they achieved blew Sligo's season out of the water, despite their double.

And another thing, why can he not answer a simple question about LOI? He's a big Pat's fan so keeps saying and he only worked in the league about two years ago was it? Every answer starts with "Well I'm a Pat's fan....", then says something about Pat's that isn't even relevant to the question! And what he does have to say about Pat's is like a load of bits and pieces he's stuck together from little conversations he's had with someone who has a passing interest in Pat's.

In short, he's clueless, moany and bitter. Or maybe thats just me!

What exactly did he say, and was that this off-season?

SkStu
21/12/2010, 7:13 PM
and which players was he talking about? Genuinely puzzled here.

He's a Pats fan - its good to see him passionate enough to take swipes at Bohs and Rovers as he nearly always does unlike most of the gobdaws associated with the league.

Kerr certainly isn't clueless.

He does hate Rovers though. He doesn't care about Bohs

he cared very much when he was chewing the ear off me about Bohs a few years ago.

Maybe he was just being a thoughtful "mate"?

Whatever your into man but, personally, I don't need to be reading about it on a public forum.
