Billy Cleary

It's random anecdote time with Mr A.

Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin.

A long, long time ago, in a place very far away beside an oversized cowshed, Mr A was watching a first division cup game between Harps and Galway United from behind the goal. Harps needed to win the game 3-0 to make the final. This didn't look like happening until a harmless looking ball comes into the Galway United box.

Robert Forde shouts at Billy Clery "Put it away Billy!". Clery takes a mad swipe at it and somehow slices the ball over his own shoulder and into the net. How we laughed.

And Harps went on to get the three goals, win the final and the tiniest trophy in LOI history. Which we had to give back two weeks later.

And they all lived happily ever after.

Except everyone involved with Harps, we're generally in a state of severe mental anguish.

And probably most involved with GUFC now that I come to think of it.

Maybe the ref is happy. Hopefully not though.

Anyway..

Neale Fenn
Jamie Duffy
Billy Dennehy

Mr A
09/12/2010, 4:40 PM
Mark Herrick- Injured several Harps players in his time. Utter ballbag. Was very happy when Galway ballsed up their playoff in Drogheda and heard he cried. Ha.
Alan Reynolds- Scumbag who punched a young Harps player unprovoked.
Maurice Farrell- Foul throw after foul throw after foul throw through the three 1999 cup finals and was never called on it. Fell flat on his face to allow Harps in for a goal a few years later, which was funny. Appeared to be trying to head the ball while it was on the ground.

Maurice Farrell - absolute thug who tried to cripple two of our right wingers in the same game.
Glen Fitzpatrick - probably the worst striker I've seen play for us, I'll never understand how he still has a career in football.
Billy Woods - honestly don't know why, he's always annoyed me for some reason.
