Separate topic from rights or wrongs, just interested in opinions of way events handled.
I was in the St Annes section so could see section F clearly.
Seeme dto be be of hassle between city fan in the lower section E & some Rovers fella in 1st half but stewards standing between so really just handbags...
When the "commotion" at the side of thr St Annes section kicked off could only see one Garda blocking exit of Rivers crowd from section F - rovers guts just hoped over the railings & Garda was powerless.
I;m no expert but would have thought its the Gardai job to contain supporters. Should not the stewards be standing around section F for that purpose? Surely the gardai just stpe in if required for trouble?
Also in hindsight did seem like barely a handful of gardai at that area.
Overall think matchday organisation of steward would get a fail rating as also appeared they coming up with actions to stop the fighting on the fly i.e. not aware exactly what to do...?
