Future Islands- The Workman's Club, Dublin, 20/10/10
No other word other than WOW can describe this.
As good as Daft Punk- Bercy 2007? I think so!

Chromeo in Tripod - November 4th. I'm guessing very few of you have heard of this band, check them out. Played a fantastic gig.

I saw Metallica and Motorhead in Madrid back in June.
I missed the start of Motorhead's set but they were great in what I saw. High point came at the end when Lemmy said "Thank you, London!" to the crowd. :D
Metallica were amazing, I was blown away. Second best concert I've ever been to. Although, Lars comes across as insincere when speaking to the crowd.

Ha, Lars is so humble normally.
Completely forgot about Mother Mother in The Windmill, Brixton in May.
Amazing.

Last time I saw Chromeo, I was pregnant for a week...
For me finally getting to see Pavement was unreal. Played Brixton Academy last May, supported by Broken Social Scene. Two brilliant sets. Four Tet and Caribou last Friday at an overstuffed Coronet Theatre runs it a close second.
I still have the reformed Godspeed You! Black Emporor and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion ('BLOOOOZE EXPLOSION!) to come so time for it to change yet. GY!BE should be fantastic.

Gruff Rhys in Galway a couple of weeks ago was excellent.

heh i saw them here at the roxy once, s. malkmus chastised the frat boys(!) in the crowd for booing the openers u.s. maple, good times!

ahh they're great live, seen them maybe five times now. i saw them open for broadcast back when they were still called manitoba and they blew them off the stage. people who'd like MBV with bigger beats should check 'up in flames'.

ha, i've seen john too, once. great great fun, BELL BOTTOMS and "you got the flayyyva" from orange always bring a smile to this face. not into godspeed though they are apparent legends among their fans - swansvsdalton you might like thee silver mount zion? i'm reading here the guitarist is actually from godspeed. their latest (kollaps tradixionales) has odd vocals on it but my friend swears by it... haven't given it a proper chance yet - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kollaps_Tradixionales

Missed out on the Pavement gig this year as it was sold out.
I've been to feck all gigs this year but have high hopes for Arcade Fire, which I'll be at on Dec 5th.

I've got a few Silver Mt.Zion things though not their most recent output I must check it out - you're right by the way, Efrim Menuck (GY!BE main man) is heavily involved in Silver Mt.Zion.

Killing Joke in dublin a few weeks ago.
Back to the original line up, nuts to think that Jaz Coleman writes symphonies and national anthems as well!

Was it the real Garth or a Garth impersonator?
Reminds of that advertising board in an episode of the Simpsons:
Live Tonight: Moody Blues Tribute Act

Ah now, they haven't exactly got a large body if work to fall back on. How many covers?

None bonnie. I know they don't but they should have made an effort to stretch it out a little. They were excellent otherwise.

I do hate that at new band gigs though. I like the odd cover at any gig but I think that new bands have a fear. I think they should have made some sort of effort mind as ya said.
