I saw Brays away kit today. Same template has the home kit but navy and white instead of green and white. Looks very nice.

Anthony Buttimer does not like this.

The jersey Scott Gaynor is wearing in that pic isnt the actual Athlone Town jersey.
The ones we're gonna be wearing are slightly different.

We also are sponsorless at the moment

We had a new horrible yellow Umbro identikit for our 3rd strip. yellow with blue trim, blue shorts, blue socks. we were told to wear it in galway as apparently the navy clashes with galways' maroon (!!). Then at half time we were told to change the blue shorts to navy ones...

Whats different about the yellow jersey Dodge? The blue trim?

Dodge

Yeah, I think thats about it. Slightly different style of trim too I think. I've been told by the club that they won't be selling it to fans as its for emergencies only

Rumour has it we're getting a yellow away. I fear it may be the template Ye have!

Sounds like our yellow away kit of last year and our light blue away kit for this year. Umbro will only sell/sponsor a limited range to First Division clubs apparently. We dont get the latest templates.

The Rovers away shirt has a distinct rubgy look, New Zealand perhaps?

I don't understand why some clubs choose a 2nd strip that has no relevence to their colours.

When I think Rovers, the colours that come into my mind are green and white, not black.

Mr A

If their away kit was just white or green it'd still clash with most of the kits their normal strip would.

In recognition of the loss of Glenmalure Park, our beloved former home at Milltown, black became the club's third official colour, along with our traditional green and white hoops.

As Mr A said the away strip is supposed to be a change of colour.

We've had white, yellow, black, green and red as away colours in my time. I like the bit of change in the away kit tbh.

There's no traditional away jersey colour for any club. Home colours may be sacred but aways can be anything.

Anything that doesn't make a club have a third kit is what I'd be interested in (although because of arseholes like Buttimer they all have 3rd kits)

Ya, but I am because I'm a Sloooiiiigo fan. Do Shamrock Rovers fans not cringe at those words on the back of the shirt though?

Our third kit is light blue this year, dunno whether that's a throw back to the Sligo Blues or it was the handiest for Jako to throw that one at us.

Fairly sure our "third" kit is just an old away one. I assumed others did this too?

Well we have for the last 10 years or so, not sure that's long enough for it to be a tradition really. More of a custom!

That's a little melodramatic and maudlin, even for Shams. What's the retrospective reasoning behind the purple jersey -- has it something to do with the colour Rovers fans' faces go from talking shíte? Or was it in honour of your beloved Michael O'Neill's nose?

Nah, Umbro were just fairly interested in doing modern versions of famous old rovers kits....

Are You thick or what. The whole idea of away colours is that they dont have the same colours of their home jerseys so they dont clash with another team that has the same colour as them !

This is basically a Rangers shirt changed to black. If it's the same material it'll be real comfy!

The Dundalk kit is quality, I'd definitely buy one if it didn't have thon big screw on it.

It's the same material as the new Ireland jerseys, which are comfortable, material goes a bit **** after a few washes though.

Not a fan at all of this jersey.

Dear all – FYI-

This is the new 2011 Bohemian FC Change kit Tailored by Umbro. The classic chevron design features Bohemians Black and Vermillion colour combination from the home kit and added to the classic white jersey makes for a clean kit visual. The kit will have white shorts and socks and will go on sale from the Bohemian Club store and the Umbro/FAI stores in Dublin from March 31st. Bohemian FC won back to back League of Ireland titles in 2008 and 2009 and just fell short of a 3rd consecutive title on goal difference to rivals Shamrock Rovers last year. Bohemians will represent the League of Ireland in the Europa League qualifiers this summer.

Commenting on the new kit Jonathan Courtenay, Director of Football at Umbro Ireland said "I'm very happy to unveil the latest umbro Bohemian kit. White away kits have proved the most popular with the fans and I think we have put together another classic yet very Bohemian-esque design here. I look forward to hearing the fans comments and seeing the team wear the kit on-filed in the near future".

Ah now... Umbro Ireland are being seriously disingenuous. Come on. its a **** poor template that they shopped out to Canadian Soccer and they went "wait a minute, Bohs and Dundalk have white, black and red in their team colours"
I'm not expecting Irish teams to get their own templates but this Tailored by Umbro guff on each launch is grating.
Admittedly its a nice shirt for a Bohs away. But thats it.

I shudder to think what we'll end up with.

its always been the major issue with umbro the stuff is mostly decent quality but half the league ends up wearing the same stuff just in different colours the only unusual thing about the black rovers shirt is they had the exact same design (same as pats home btw) as a white away shirt last season, never seen umbro do that before.

eelmonster

I like the look of that ;) What would really set the shirt off would be an illustration of a big carpet knife or a roll of underlay under the Des Kelly lettering. Fastfix take note.

Scrapping the barrel, celebrating 110 years aren't they? Also sure to **** off a few of the heads who believe they were founded in 1899

Courteney certainly gts his money's worth out of them

The mismatched sleeves ruin what could have been a really nice shirt.
