One for tets and the rest of you who try and follow Irish players in England. He's just joined Sheffield United.

Terrific, attack minded midfielder

Best of the luck to him - he has all the attributes to make it over there.

Doesn't matter, will Trap pick him?

Seems like a very nice genuine lad, interesting that he says about staying at home, seems that has paid off for a lot more players in the last few years going over from home after playing LOI. What age is this lad? Is he a dub?

Interesting that CR has thanked you, the great follower and enthused informed LOI guy that he is....or does he just want to come back in a few years and say i told you so? :D

ON a side note, 20yoyos is a great price for a club DD type thing. Does that include a full 4 course?

He's 21. He's a Dub alright.

Nah, we went the cheap option and €20 gets you a buffet diner instead. Band, DJ and the all important bar extension though :)

Ya given the way things are thats probably the best option. PLus some ppl don't like the idea of sitting around a table for 2 hours.

Thats exactly it. We had the 4 course option last year for our 80th and it went well, but we decided to go with more of a party vibe than a "function" type atmosphere.

McAllister is favourite for young player of the year and I think he'll win Goal of the year too

The first goal is outstanding, the second one certainly had the young girls screaming.

It should be pointed out that he's right footed, and both those goals scored with his left

He ended winning GOTY for the Sligo effort. Talked to him last night and he's signed a 2 and a half year contract

Officialy signed last week (as soon as January window opened).

Came off bench to make his debut at home to Aston Villa in the Cup with 15 minutes to go.

Just scored his first league goal to keep alive Sheffield United's slim hopes of survival. The BBC live report indicates he had 3 other shots in the final minutes of the first half, two of which were on target.

His league debut too. Good strike (just caught it on sky sports news)

Looks like they're down though

From a Sheffield United forum (http://www.s24su.com/showthread.php?22923-Blades-3-Bristol-City-2-report)

McAllister 7/10 – Liked the look of him just for the fact he offered something different to what we have seen. Neat and tidy on the ball and always looked to move into space. He did not get back much defensively but he showed in an attacking sense what he was all about with a few nice threaded balls and then a whole succession of excellent shots from different angles and ranges. He hit a powerful shot to score and then had a precise curled effort that he nearly scored with. He actually had two more chances at the end of the first half and easily could have had a hat trick. To be critical I thought he faded badly after the break but the whole team had a poor spell when it went 2-2 and confidence seemed to drain. I barely noticed him second half though after a good first half. Hopefully gets a run and can find his feet at this level. We have seen players from similar backgrounds such as Doyle, Hunt (x2) and Long go to Reading and do really wellbut he does need games and to adjust to the pace of this level of football (and the one below!).

Still a free agent after being out injured since August of last year.

Never really pushed on after scoring on his Championship debut with Sheffield United all those years ago.

Likely return home you'd have to think.
