Seems to be mixed reactions about Bian McCarthy. Longford fans say he was great with them a few seasons ago and nearly got player of the year but too slow for fullback. Athlone fans said he is alright but very error prone and gets caught out of position a lot. Didn't play that much for them last season.

Brian Murphy and Paudie Quinn from Tralee Dynamos. Anybody know anything about them?
A quick google says Paudie Quinn isn't long back from Fulham and is a midfelder/striker??
And Brian Murphy appears to be a striker who has scored a few.
Both youngfellas

Paudie Quinn looks like he could be promising. Semmed to be in Fulhams under 18 and youth teams from looking him up online. Must have done something right to head over from lisselton on a 12 month scholarship it seems. Capped at u17 level also.
The team looks very young at the moment. Hopefully Scully is trying to secure as many of the younger promising lads before the PFAI list is released. Then hopefully he can go looking for more experienced players at LOI level.

Paudie and Brian are both from Listowel and have played most of their football with Listowel Celtic. Both capped underage for Ireland. Paudie is a skilful midfielder who spent over a year at fulham but things didnt work out and came home to play A champioship with T dynamos. Brian is a pacy striker who signed for Dynamos from Listowel earlier this year

Some quality players on that list. Very surprised to see Kearney from Waterford there, and he would be a good addition to our team.

Id say Kearney has agreed to sign for Cork already.
Like last year a lot of them players will end up staying where they are..
Some good players on it though and a few that have worked with Scully before.

Me too to be honest. He was given permission to talk to Cork weeks ago but obviously not jumping at a return to the X!

If he hasn't come to terms with Cork yet he would definitely be a good signing. We need a good winger like him. Was suprised he didn't stay on with Waterford.
It's been very quiet the last few days on here. Any rumours about any players interesting Limerick from the PFAI list?
I see it was updated yesterday with Jason Hughes added to it. Thought he was in Scullys plans for this season and thats why he was loaned out and not released. Good to see he wants to continue to play at LOI level though.
Brian Gartland or Philip Hughes would be good signings also. Anto Flood is looking to get back playing LOI but he should be picked up by a premier team. Declan O Brien up there as well. Ger Hanley from Mervue has looked a very decent keeper anytime I've seen him play and is called up to the Ireland U18 team. I think he is on trial over in Scotland though.
Any body any other thoughts on players they'd like to see come in or who could come in?

a player would put himself on the PFAI list and would have nothing to do with their clubs. Most players would have been made offers which im sure is true of JH but they like to see are the're better offers out there so put the word out....on the PFAI website

Becks, seeing as you don't accept private messages, I'll explain to you (because you're new on here) that we have rules regarding basic sh1t-stirring. Please don't post anything that is purely speculative, or rumour on here without foundation that you can verify, and if you want to talk about junior football, please go to the junior forum.

I hope we keep him also. If he wants to go back to junior though leave him. I'd be more worried if he wanted to go to another LOI club. If he wants to step back to junior then i'm sure he'd have his reasons.

unless a player puts pen to paper then it will be rumour and speculation ......if you cut that then there is not much need of a forum, just sit and wait for the official news/squad update from Limerick......

well unless his agent is LFC then this has nothing to do with this thread, however if a member or the limerick squad moving to junior football or a junior player going to limerick would have a place here....???

might be the way to go, if somebody posts something in the 'official' thread that is proven to be a load of sh1te then they should be banned for a week, if they want to post crap they could use the rumours thread as rumours are made up by somebody somewhere....

Juniorballers seem to pick up on and believe anything some fella in a pub toilet told them, they then cant wait to go tap tap tap on here or their own forum. Unfortunetly we've had years of nonsence posted up on here and you cant tell from fact or fiction so most people dont even read it and a lot of people dont even come on here anymore

For anyone that was worrying about Garry Sheehan and the abuse last year this is from an interview with him on Extratime.ie.
“Judging by the abuse I got in Ferrycarrig last time round and the absolute emotional battering I got in Jackman a few weeks back, I'd hope the fans would welcome be back with open arms”Laughed Sheehan.

our budget this year is cut by just under one quarter. These players are comming all within budget such is the economy at the moment :D Agree about full backs, alan delgarno and John Smith were our two last fulll backs imo

gary o neil fingal in talks with limerick for 1 year contract great signing for us if it comes off
If that is anyway true it would be a fantastic signing. Can't see it though.
Tomorrows headlines "Limerick in signing proper fullback shocker."
Backs are looking more solid now. Hopefully White signs too, he was our best player at the start of the season.
I'd fancy a backline of White, O Callaghan/McCarthy, Purcell, Frost.

Good to hear on the wages, should keep things nicely stable. Delgarno was left & Smith was right full? Solid players in fairness. Was that the Sam Allardyce year or the top six year?
