Do correct me if I am wrong here but were Rovers fans at the monkey chants yesterday when Boco and Ndo were taking corners?

If they weren't, it sure sounded like it:teeth:

I was a little concerned listening to that abuse at the game. It did sound a little too close to racist chants for comfort.

I didn't hear anything, but I was up above the Shligo fans, so maybe it was drowned out

:D "A little too close to racist chants"? What does that mean, were people shouting Naggers?

I was right behind the goal with the SRFC Ultras and thousands of other 'non Family stand Rovers fans. There wasn't a single racist chant of any description. But feel free to find out through Scandinavia, Canada or Timbuktu if there were or not. Have fun with your thread.

The boos sounded as if they may have contained some "monkey" chants.

I'm not saying they did. It could have been the acoustics or something else.

However, the fact that I (and others around me) thought that it may be racist was a concern.

Maybe rephrase this one a wee bit here to clarify it. Now in this day and age, we still expect to hear a few ignoramuses shouting racist slurs at players and this is from fans of all teams, let's be clear on that.

I was sitting in the north end of the west stand so I was in clear view of the SRFC fans in the north stand and within reasonable earshot of them. When Ndo and Boco went in and around the SRFC corners during the first half, a chant went up that sounded as if it was that of a monkey. This sound/chants finished as they moved back into play and would start back up when said players returned to these parts of the field of play. Granted there were boos at Ndo sometimes but it still sounded like something else was chanted.

The f*ck are you talking about pal? :D Ndo was booed, big deal, you didn't hear anything like monkey chants to kindly stfu or waste SARI's time by demanding a tribunal at Dublin Castle to try to score points over Rovers.

Surprise surprise, here we go again with another round of Rovers bashing based on unfounded allegations from rival fans. I'm only surprised it's taken the day after the game for this thread to appear here.

.........and surprise, surprise the slightest question about anything shams and hysterical defence commences ! Question was asked "if" it happened, feel free to deny/confirm but given your own habit of lecturing to other clubs the anti sham conspiracy therories are OTT.

from my own point (watching on TV) I didn't notice any rascist chanting during the game and would hope that it didn't occur.

This was happening at certain times of the game when certain players were involved. There was others (Including White Horse) who agrees that it sounded like same.

Now if it indeed happened (And nobody said that it did happen, is it acceptable behavior from fans of any club?

If anyone wants to post anything resembling evidence, feel free. Otherwise, thread locked as it's pure unsubstantiated allegation.
