You said it bro. I'm going into town now to have non-football related Friday pints with Canadians. That's weirder.

Bring back winter football.

I jest. Please don't bring back winter football.

Going on past experiences of drinking with Canadians,if your heading out now you should make it home for the start of The Late Late Show:giggle:

LOI withdrawl might lead to this:

I may watch the DVD of Dundalk's 5-1 demolition of Shamrock Rovers.

Is it possible to wear out a DVD?

If you're in a hurry, we could skip the scrabble and go straight to the whooping. :D

Bring back winter football :p

I always suffer League of Ireland withdrawal symptoms in the winter. Not the best time of year for it.

Magicme

I think its easier to deal with no football at this time of the year as after cup final I start preparing for Christmas and then there is New Years and then pre-season starts so its not quite as hard as if it was a whole summer of boredom.

update:- the self-harm doesnt hurt as much as away league games in Tallaght and, surprisingly i suppose, games against Galway.

That is true but I usually have a 2 hour gap during drinks while watching the match

OK - ROLL REVERSAL.
well documented on how and means of converting UK followers to LOI, but how many LOI fans turn their attention to loclal Intermediate/Junior soccer during the close season, if so who's your team?

Never drank with Mississauguans. Ottawans are big for the sauce as I found out to my detriment over last new years. Was out with a Nova Scotian, a Vancouverian and an Irish Edmontonian. Freaks of nature for the booze.

I was talking to a few of my LOI supporting mates last night and we have decided to head up to a few IL games during the off-season, hope its as fun as the last IL game i went to, Crussaders V Cliftonville last St Stephens Day

They most certainly don't play on St Stephen's Day. I tend to go deaf when I hear the B-word. My LOI buddy is in London so I guess I'm soccerless til I go to the Bigger Smoke and watch Brentford or Orient.

i dont think we will but ill be relieved if we are demoted or can maintain our premiership status while going fully part-time. Im just looking forward to a fresh start whatever that might look like and just hope we can get the right people in at the club and turn it round.

But seriously, if Bohs went tits-up that would be it for me. I might make a Sheridan-like appearance here every now and again though just to have a cheap dig at Rovers... ;)

+1. Would retain an interest in LOI should Bohs no longer be around (which I dont expect to happen but.....) but could not see myself "supporting" any other LOI team on any sort of regular basis.

I wonder how many LOI fans were lost to the game, maybe permanently, due to difficulties at (deep breath) Shams, Cork, Derry, Shels etc etc etc. It would be my own experience that fans that "lapsed" rarely come back.

Hey now, I had a choice between West Ham and Leyton Orient as my newly adopted local team, and I went for the team who have "FA Semi finalists 1977-78" as their major honour.

I just don't think I could deal with following a team with big crowds and massive TV exposure- it wouldn't feel right!

Now, I wonder if I can find a club around here with a greyhound track?

Who'd want the heartache of supporting a team who can score three times in a cup final and still lose?

I'm going to stand on a grassy hill in the pi$$ing rain feeling disappointed, I'm HARDCORE.

On Leyton Orient, I remember a group of about twenty of them who were on a stag in Cork (wtf btw?!) travelling to Cobh on the Saturday to follow Limerick.

We Lost. :D
