Shane was already under contract but keeping hold of Kelly is massive for us, delighted with keeping hold of all of those players on the list, hopefully we add a few new decent signings and we should do ok

Edit - I see Graham Kelly has left Derby County and is coming back to Ireland, would be great to get him signed up for the season.

Damn!
I thought he signed with us for the season.
If he goes. who'd be best to fill the 'creative midfielder' role?

I heard that he had signed for us, so maybe we will get something for him.. Roo posted earlier that graham kelly is coming back home so maybe he could fill that gap...

The club made an announcement of players that had resigned for next season, Dempsey was one of those players, i would presume that if he does move there will be a fee involved. That would make sense wouldn't it? Who knows with our club though :D
Kelly was saying he was being released from Derby and was looking to train with us, wasn't a dead cert

I didn't see any games where Graham Kelly played with us last season - was he any good?

Yeah i personally think Kelly is a very good player and can only get better, only time he played poorly was against Galway in the Play Off but he was playing out of position on the right side of midfield and kept drifting back into the centre of the park leaving a big gap.

I hope we get a decent fee for him. Dundee would be getting a very good player.

Dempsey is a big loss , a really good playmaker, it would be difficult to replace him at anytime , nevermind so close to the start of the season. To be honest if hes the only one to go i think we will have done very well, Pats done a great job holding onto a lot of the squad.

Dempsey wont be going to Dundee on loan nor permanently because Dundee have a transfer embargo!!
Hulsey
28/01/2011, 11:14 AM
If he signed on amateur forms for us then he may be in the position to leave us for free and sign a similar deal with dundee without coming in under the embargo rules? Not sure of this but could be the case. Hope not as we probably wont be able to replace him, best player we've had since Cawley in his first season with us

Looks like they can get around that by signing him as a trialist.

"Bray Wanderers are pleased to announce that Graham Kelly has signed for the 2011 season. 19 year old Kelly was on loan with the Seagulls from Derby County last season.
In other squad news Wanderers have also signed 21 year old Athlone native Robert Egan who featured for Tullamore Town in the A Championship in 2010. "
Great news getting Graham signed up for 2011, was impressed with him when on loan, hopefully he can step up again now that he has signed on a perm. basis, far to many player have been excellent for us on loan then pants when they sign

Richie Baker hopefully not, James Kavanagh left last year when he lost his place thank god.

Mulroy is down in the squad list anyway. Vickers will probably be an A team player this year so that may be why he hasnt been announced?

Baker played inthe last game of the season against Rovers, he was injuried for the majority of the season which is a shame cause he could have offered us something.
Heard Joe Kendrick is training with us at present.

Vickers has moved to Canada. Kav signed for UCD a few weeks ago. Id imagine Mulroy will stay. Dunno about the rest though sorry.

Rumours that Gary Dempsey might be joining Stewart were refuted by Barry, who said "It was reported wrongly. What happened was that it was spoken about in the terms of it being a possibility, but it never got as far as actually asking him here.
interesting piece from dundee utd web site, talking about this weekends match.. maybe gary is still a bray player for this season ??

Pretty much gone from what i've heard, better losing him now than a week before the season, might give us a chance to bring someone else in.

Agree, at least we can build with what we have and graham kelly can easily take that position...

Wanderers have made three significant additions to the current squad with the following signings:
Dan McGuinness a current under 18 International who joins from Shamrock Rovers
Conor Murphy a current under 19 International
Stephen Last an 18 year old who has returned home from Cardiff City.
Wanderers manager Pat Devlin said " we are delighted to have signed these young players in the face of great competition from a number of other Airtricity League Clubs. It was due to the hard work of the backroom staff in securing their signatures and I have no doubt they will be great additions to the current squad"
Anyone know what position these lads play in?

Mc Guinness is a forward while Murphy is described as a striker and scored for the under 19's in their last game afaik,Last is a defender, three good acquisitions I guess.

I saw McGuinness play against Shels and was very impressed with him, great touch and extremely quick. Spoke to a few people about him and he is highly rated.

AFAIK if a player is not attached they can be signed outside the window although I am open to correction on that.
