Anybody think he's worth a call up? Confirmed his interest here :

http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/west-bromwich-albion-fc-news/2009/12/15/west-bromwich-albion-s-simon-cox-reveals-desire-to-play-for-republic-of-ireland-97319-25394365/

And seems to be starting for West Brom now. Definately shouldn't be ignoring a prem league starter.

My sense is that this is a similar case to Lawrence. We (Stan) ignored Liam when playing some of his best football, only for him to be called up much later and do a reasonable job - certainly fill a gap.

I suspect Cox would be a compelling addition, certainly something different (& better than several) & who might be the kind of player who flourishes on the international stage. We will probably leave it until he is passed it.

Can't find the other thread on him. Scored today in what apparently is a contender for goal of the season.

It was a great strike, maybe goal of the month, but no way was it goal of the season caliber
