Baptism of fire for Gannon

New Dundalk manager Jim Gannon faces a huge first game in charge as Dundalk host Bray Wanderers. Bray are currently third in the first division, with Dundalk two places below. However, a win for Dundalk would lift them to within one point of Bray.

"Dundalk gave me my first good opportunity as a player and I am delighted that they are doing the same for me as a manager. I am still able to register as a player but it is not my main priority. It is possible I will play myself but I want to give the players that we have a good enough opportunity to show me what they can do."


New Dundalk manager Jim Gannon can hardly hide his enthusiasm. Which is presumably why he got the gig.

Gannon sets target

New Dundalk manager Jim Gannon has set his side the target of winning promotion to the Premier Division in his first managerial role since leaving Shelbourne at the end of last season.

The former Dundalk, Stockport County and Shelbourne defender has taken over the reigns from Trevor Anderson who resigned earlier this month and immediately set his sights on winning promotion.

perfectly suited. from what I saw of the dundalk team against roamblers they were arrogant and thuggish- just like gannon himself. Dundalk to be the new shels? :rolleyes:
