I just saw on the sligo forum that ex town player Damien Dunleavy was seriously injured in a road accident in Sligo and there is a benefit night for him in the showgrounds this saturday nite in a sligo rovers legends match against finn harps legends legend.. this will kick off at seven pm..

I for one will go to it as he was a good servant to us in the bad dreary days under Mickey O'Connor when he finished top scorer for us in the 96/97 season with 9 goals in his first season. He was with us for the following season after that too and we signed him from Finn harps.. please read the above thread for further details..

I would be too young to remember him but that is very sad news and I hope the money from this match helps. Nice to see the LOI helping out its former players.
