Sligo Rovers and Sligo Chamber are calling on Sligo businesses to help them “Paint the Town Red”. The two organisations have teamed up to mark the club’s achievement in reaching the FAI Ford Cup Final where they will take on Shamrock Rovers in the Aviva Stadium on Sunday 14th November.
Sligo Rovers and Sligo Chamber will be running a Best Dressed Window Display Competition and are encouraging all businesses to lend their support to the team by decorating their shop fronts or premises. The winning premises will receive two tickets to the match and a night’s accommodation for two in the Clarion Liffey Valley. The winners will be announced on Thursday 11th November.
“Sligo Chamber is delighted to be working with Sligo Rovers on this paint the town red initiative and is confident that the team will do Sligo city and county proud”, comments Gerry Moore, Vice President Sligo Chamber.
Sligo Chamber is also planning on decorating the streets of Sligo with red and white bunting and is looking for contributions from the business community. Anyone wishing to donate, should contact Sligo Chamber. “We will be actively seeking contributions for this initiative over the coming days and will be appreciative of all donations”, comments Des Faul, recently elected Chair of the Sligo Chamber Retail Committee.
