Well clubs were asked to submit suggested player or players available which is why numerous Premier 1st teamers omitted.

Surprised to see a lot of those name listed.

4 bray players! Who's the manager of this team?

I doubt Devlin has seen most of the fringe players at Prem clubs.

Whats the point in playing fringe players from a premier club when you can play very very good young players from the 1st division who are getting there game every single week ? who are probably just as good.

Well in fairness, it's not as if Kenny's playing Doyle at the moment with the fued there having. It's Kenny being a muppett.

They may well be, they might not though, thats my point. Devlin can't know about all players. Would be better to give it to somebody involved in the U21 set up at one of the clubs. I know Stuart Ashton is involved but how much inmput into squad selection did he have?

And will this mean games cancelled as players are on "international duty"?

Watch this space i'd say. If this deemed "international duty" going to be a lot of games cancelled cos only need to have 1 player away now & 1 of the games is for the friday.

Devlin unhappy with lack of co-operation - www.elevenaside.com

May 11, 2004

Pat Devlin, the Bray Wanderers manager, has criticised some of his eircom League colleagues for their lack of co-operation in his attempts to put together the strongest possible squad for next week’s semi-professional representative tournament in Aberdeen in Scotland.

With the eircom League’s authorities having decided that the Irish representation would be restricted to players who were under-21 at the end of last season, Devlin, assisted by UCD’s Eddie Wallace, announced an 18-man panel on Monday.

Devlin’s own Bray Wanderers side have four representatives in the squad, as do Premier Division leaders Shelbourne. UCD, meanwhile, have three players in the panel, with Derry City, Bohemians, St Patrick’s Athletic, Waterford United, Cobh Ramblers, Kildare County and Galway United all having one representative apiece.

But Devlin has claimed that some eircom League managers were less than co-operative when he tried to contact them to inquire about the availability of certain players.

He said: "We’ve contacted every club in the league, but some managers didn’t return calls. Most were contacted one way or another and we’re happy with what we’ve got, we tried to take everything into consideration, with the league going on and under-19 and under-21 internationals taking place as well. Most lads in our league don’t get much of a chance of caps, so it’s a bit of a shame that some lads we wanted weren’t made available."

Devo, your a tit. Touting your wares to lower divisions in england. I'd laugh if Zayad's loan cost Bray division 1 and promotion. How he got this job is beyond me.

It's a stupid tournament anyway - I'm actually heartened that most managers gave it the respect it deserves.

Are you talking about last season ? well ya must be, because if ya kept up to date with eL news you would know Zayed is back with Bray this season and only last night scored 2 against Rovers in the league cup.

Correct me if I'm wrong but he didn't have an off-season... which can only effect his form in the last 1/4 of the season.

I maybe wrong but Devo is still a twit.

Devlin's entire career is based on pimping as many players as possible to english clubs so as he can get a cut of the fees. he shouldn't be allowed manage if he's an agent as well- total conflict of interest

Zayed didnt play that many games for Crewe so it wont effect him really, 11 games in all i think. We also have Fox, Tarzan, Flood, Dunne and Grogan - who is by far Brays best forward so i wouldnt really worry if Zayed does get tired during the season anyway.

If I were you, I'd worry if he doesn't!
