Putting aside any club rivalry's for a minute can I just say what a great little league we have here.Win lose or draw next week no-one can deny us the exicement of 2 leagues that no-one seems to want to win.

Poor,poor barstoolers.They don't know what they're missing!

Im still gutted beyond belief. Even if we were to win the league next week it would not be a win or team that i would be proud of. Absolute useless bottlers the lot of them. As i said on here a couple of weeks ago, if any team can throw away the league from this point, this Bohs squad will. 1 point from 12 against Galway FFS. Questions must be asked of Fenlon this season. Wrong signings. Wrong selections. Wrong tactics. Rubbish.

Regarding the league - high on excitement, very low on quality. But infinitely more interesting than the Premiership.

Shams wanted the league more and they've got it, so good luck to them.

On a side note: Viva Cretero (every cloud has a silver lining).

There'll be hundreds of Derry fans checking phones, websites, Aertel, etc. tonight desperately hoping that Mervue can do them some kind of favour, even though deep down they'll know it'll never happen. Football is cruel. Football is great.

Going to be a crazy week next week,Bray and Monaghan to have their biggest crowds in years, Hopefully the Saints to bring a big following to Sligo (i think we will) I wont be able to concentrate to much on the game because I will have an eye on my phone checking how Fingal are getting on (Come on UCD, If you win I will let you into my 16 team Premier) and then on Saturday night I think I will make the trip across the Liffey to watch the Shels game, This is what it is all about
Should be a big home crowd for it aswell, cant wait.

I think yous were unlucky with the injuries, especially with the form Murphy is on. Otherwise you'd have had more variation off the bench late on. I actually thought Bohs played better yesterday than against Pat's but it wasn't to be.

It is odd to see the two potential champions looking so weak at this stage of the season. Nerves all-round.

Nothing guaranteed in this league. Sligo should definitely put out their stongest side to make sure. ;)

And put your pathetic excuse for a club into Europe? No thanks.

Your player Maher pretending that conan tried to headbutt him after the Dundalk red card was a complete disgrace

If this is as you describe then it was disgraceful from Maher. I didn't mention the incident in my earlier post as I couldn't see whether there was contact or not. As much as a headbutt from your player would be seen as "out of character", so would Maher feigning injury be from my point of view.

plus the fact that two scumbags came into the away section squaring up to fingal fans looking for a fight while stewards looked on, was not a good thing.

We have an scum element that the club is working hard on eliminating. There have been a number of barrings this year that have resulting in temporary (hopefully) lower attendances. Any help from the Fingal fans in identifying complacent stewards would be helpful. To keep our head above water, we use voluntary stewards. This is economical but can be problematic if the offender is a neighbour of the steward.

By the way, well done to the Fingal fans for turning up in good numbers and giving good vocal support to their team.

I had definitely never considered the possibility of a Shels-Waterford playoff.

23/10/2010, 7:32 PM
If that is a result any way we can get our fans to cause a bit of trouble and delay the game by 15 minutes so we can fix it that we both get a playoff if the Derry Mons game suits? haha

you were saying.... 3 galway clubs win this weekend thats a first, competition is great. Mervue were not playing mons tonight the blue and white strpes made them believe they were playing Salthill Devon im convinced. Serious incident to former Galway United striker Dave Goldbey he went head first over wall onto concrete. I hope he is okay. Monaghan were very very bad

You could say that, I know there will be at least one bus full going, possibly two, there is a good chance we could outnumber the home support.
Watched salthill last night they were not bad at all and deserved the win, City were terrible, should be an interesting tie.

Just back from the Mervue - Monaghan game.

Mervue's second goal was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen at a football game.

Monaghan had a free kick from a Mervue offside. The Monaghan full back Grimes kicks up a big fuss about the Mervue striker not being 10 yards away. As some form of protest (I have no idea what he was thinking), he kicked the ball straight to the Mervue striker. He is left one on one with the Monaghan keeper and scores.

It's not an easy division to get out of.

It was one of the most ridiculous and comical games ever. Poor Goldbey's going over the wall was perfect for youtube (hope is ok) and then Grimes acting the tool and in bad temper kicking the ball to a mervue player. Unreal. We were a joke. I think the cup games have really caught up on the lads and I know I for one will be hoping we go back to being knocked out by non-league teams in the first round next season.....if we still have any kind of a team. Cant see some of our players sticking around for another go next year. :-(

I have a headache, stomach ache but worst of all heartache tonight.

Unfortunatley Maher did do it. Now I think it was just a quick reaction from him and then he thought better of it but he did try and con the ref/lino into thinking conan head butted him. As for the stewards, all I can say is, it was the two lads standing in front of our away support.

The worst thing is not that two nob ends where able to get into the away section but the fact that they where escorted back into the stand opposite and allowed to stay for the rest of the game.
