Hey lads,
I've been toying with the idea of running a League of Ireland podcast for a while and I've decided to give it a go.
Obviously the League of Ireland Football Show is the leading (and only) podcast covering both leagues, but far from compete with it I'm looking to compliment it, focusing more on the fans.
I'm hoping to have someone from every club that could do a brief report on their clubs match (Obviously the reporter of the home team does the report so everyone gets a week in every two off) and could do a report if a big news story breaks at their club.
Every week I'd be hoping to do a profile on a club as well and give a view on fans groups and provide a forum for supporters to keep updated on the leagues, and hopefully it'll be entertaining!
I'd be hoping to have it in time for the last few games of the season, and then for it to be properly up and running for the next season.
If you're interested then send me an email (http://foot.ie/shefellover93@hotmail.com) or PM. If you're interested in reporting you'd obviously need a microphone and a recording programme on yer pc, and if you mp3 can do sound recording I'd really love if we could get some interviews with players, managers, fellow fans ect.
I'd really love to get this going and if we could get the manpower behind it then it could become very popular considering the lack of podcasts about the league.
Cheers,
Kev

As an exile, I'd love to offer my services but out of the loop a bit... I enjoy the LoI Show podcast but long for a bit of club related banter, something like James Richardson's Guardian podcast would be a great model to work on.

Pretty much what I had in mind really, except with reports from fans as well

Just to bump this again. We have gotten six people to sign up so far but obviously need a lot more if we want to produce the kind of programme we've been hoping for. If you've any interest in journalism or just want to do it for a bit of fun don't hesitate to get onto me, we really could make something very worthwhile next season if things go well

We've sent it off to be reviewed. Feel free to listen on the podomatic player though, more plays = higher ranking = better exposure which is all good!
Really happy with how it turned out and can't wait to get it on the itunes asap so people can subscribe!

Just checked there two seconds ago on itunes and we're live! Just search 'League of Ireland Fans' Really excited about it now, hoping to have another episode summing up the last week with some interviews.
As ever, we're looking for people to do reports, we've reporters for Bohs, Shamrock Rovers, Cork City, Monaghan, Athlone and Monaghan but we need people for all the other clubs (Including A Champ clubs hopefully)

I think this could work better on a youtube formate, you could get highlight's from channels like this http://www.youtube.com/user/VinnyGUFC and this http://www.youtube.com/user/AthloneTownTV ,although they have both gone quite in recent months.

The thing about having the video is that
A) We'd have video for some games and then have none for others
B) Video would render the reports useless
C) We'd just be rehashing another person's work
D) It'd mean people would have to stop and watch it, instead of being able to listen to it while doing something else
I might look into it but I think if we can sharpen up the current version a bit and get a few more reporters we could have something that's well worth listening to regularly

BUMP
Looking for new reporters for the 2011 season. It only takes a few minutes to write up and read out a report, once a fortnight, and if we can get reporters the podcast will continue to grow like it has done since we started
