View Full Version : Aviva East Stand - "Purple Route"
Going to the new stadium for the first time tomorrow. Tickets for the East stand. Apparently its the "purple route", is this only via Herbert Road. I was hoping to take public transport. Is getting off at Sandymount now an option?
Any help appreciated

On the DART, there should be a poster saying what stop to get off at for each colour section.

Its a pain having to walk all the way around the stadium and over the river to get to the East Stand. Why won't they just let us walk down Lansdowne Rd?

Fact.
Caused me to miss the first few mins of the Argentina match.

Its a bloody nightmare, ya have to walk all the round and cross over herbert bridge. It means walking down this narrow path which is poorly lit. Dangerous IMHO.
I was in the West Stand for the Man U match and the East for the Andora match. The East is a nightmare.
There is a map here. I presume its the same for tonight.

I'm in the east stand as well and have found it fine, although I go in via the Bath Avenue route as we normally meet up in the Lansdowne Bar.

Thanks for the tip, handier for me. Can have my few beers at home and then head.
By the way folks, pints are cheap in Searasons, 4 quid last time I was in there.

Just in case anyone is wondering; took the Luas to the point and walked the 20 minutes through Ringsend/Irishtown
Pretty much came straight out onto the purple route
