Mr A (http://foot.ie/threads/99286-The-say-anything-what-s-on-your-mind-thread?p=1407826&viewfull=1#post1407826), as per usual.

And in response...

You had me very worried there!!!

Me too. Although I had a horrible vision of a trouser zip accident.

Although frankly if you come to the foot.ie off topic section for advice in such a circumstance your self castration is probably good for the gene pool.

Probably out side the terms of reference but jasus i hear shat myself laughing at this (http://foot.ie/threads/141878-The-GIF-thread-%28NSFW%29?p=1409206&viewfull=1#post1409206) from The Fly in the gif thread.

There's nothing to say a post just consisting of a gif can't win.

There was some debate over that when Bluebeard - I think it was - was nominated for the "H from Steps is dead" joke -

http://www.holmesdale.net/board_files/downloads/1524834_H.bmp

I've a notion Bluebeard was at best embarrassed to be nominated for what clearly wasn't his joke.

thischarmingman
15/10/2010, 9:38 AM
I thought I posted that.

Or maybe I copied it and posted it elsewhere.

I don't know if posting something that's a meme on other sites (the gif above for instance) can count towards POTM. F365 forum is full of stuff like that, for instance.

Okay so, how about such things are eligible if and only if the joke is relevant to a foot.ie discussion? In other words, where the post is funny not just for the unoriginal joke in it, but for its context in a foot.ie thread too (excluding list threads like the joke thread, the gifs thread, etc., but including e.g. The say anything, what's on your mind thread, or (Dog forgive me) the Cool Dog thread).

Yeah that sounds about right.

(Especially considering I sometimes seem to spend half my time merely posting FAIL/Inspirational poster images or Simpson's quotes...)

I wouldn't worry too much about it lads. Leave it open. if someone wants to nominate a picture, then so be it. Likewise with the votes.

Don't be POTM fascists ;)

Except pretty much every other kind.

When I'm at work, extremely bored on a Friday afternoon, I'll focus on anything other than it!

I should point out that Mr A's "Award AWARD!" post was one of the funniest I've ever seen. So I'd agree with that. But then, there's the nagging thought that Dodge is right too.

So I just won't vote for the gif nominated.

They're the worst kind of fascists.

Except pretty much every other kind.
That's right. It goes like this:

1. Anti-fascist fascists. The kind of person who'll beat you up for reading Mein Kampf.
3. Numeracy fascists. The numbers go in any order I choose.
7. Liertasy, er, litersey, em, grammar nazis.
19. Nazi nazis. Gas, ovens, excessive use of motorways to conquer Europe.
π. Hipster nazis (http://hipsterhitler.com/).
Ñ. Vegetarians. Screw you, PETA, I like steak.
-7. Other kinds of political fascists. Anyone who can make Italians punctual can't be humane.
1.6 + 3i. Dahamsta. Allegedly.
4. PotM fascists.
91. Fascist Groove Thang. Terrible song, but I don't have to listen to it.

Also can a few more people vote for me in the last poll so we can keep up our anti-Rovers facade.

Here's what Mr A has posted, except that I've replaced [ and ] with ( and ), so you'll need to fix that.

Just click the little globe and link icon, paste in the link, press enter, and write what you want.

Mr A

Easiest way to do it is highlight the URL you want and then click copy, then highlight the text you want to become a link and click this lad: http://foot.ie/images/editor/createlink.png and paste in the URL to the pop up.

I don't care what the NFQ says, level 7 is not a real degree, it's a diploma or sham degree.

It is though a stepping stone which in time with a little patience and will can lead to something better. Some of us are already there, don't turn your back on it just because you don't feel it yet. Give it time, all will be well in the end..

It's not the kind of post that usually gets nominated, but Stuttgart88's post (http://foot.ie/threads/81705-Stephen-Ireland?p=1418938&viewfull=1#post1418938) describes a lot of what I think is wrong with football.
