Cue a flurry of activity as everyone looks at their house!
Yep, 2nd thing I did after looking at Richmond Park.
Which probably says a lot about me.

Saw the google car(with camera) going past my house the other day but the image up on google street view now is from months ago. Do they update it or why would the car still be going around?

Yeah, they update it a fair bit (at lest for the US they do).

Stupid laptop away getting fixed and the HTC legend doesn't seem able for street view but I believe my dad is outside my house on it. He was also caught on cam outside their Florida house so am dying to see if he is pictured at my parents Monaghan house. I wonder is their a record for number of times caught on Google cam?

With Ireland Street View now live, you can plug your address into the Wilderness Downtown: http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com
Only works in Chrome
helps if you're an Arcade Fire fan, still pretty cool even if you're not IMO

Fair dues to Daft for tying up with Google and rolling it out the same day as Google's rollout. I like to see web operations keeping up with tech.
Very disappointed Fota isn't included in this rollout, the wife saw them down there on their bikes about a month ago so that was the first thing I went looking for.

Dammit haven't managed to catch anyone doing anything incriminating at any of the family or the inlaws places. I'll just have to keep searching.

Just looking at Limerick and a couple of things jumped out at me. Very few housing estates covered. Images are at least 12-18 months old.
Images everywhere are a year old (at least a year)

Well they appear to have covered most of Southill but none of Moyross, none of Ballynanty (where I'm originally from and which only borders Thomond Park on two sides) and patchy coverage of Greystones...

StreetView privacy / security discussion moved to Current Affairs (http://foot.ie/threads/143225-Google-Street-View-Privacy-Security).
See my old house on it, but the picture was either taken pre- July 2009 or post july 2010 as it's not my car in the drive :(

The seafront in Salthill, Galway was taken on two different days. One half shows the Promenade packed as it is a sunny day but once you move a few hundred meters, it's piddling rain and there is hardly anyone about.

I just noticed Ireland was now on streetview, I went and had a look to see if I could find my dad house/farm before he came to England.
I think I have found the road that lead down to it but I can't see the house at all. I will have to check with my dad, I have not been
there since I was very young. I have recorded it on my mobile phone because they don't have the internet.
I could not find my mothers place at all, either it has been demolished/rebuilt or I was on the wrong road, again I will have to check.
Also one of the cameras on the car was not working properly so you only could see on one direction.
Anyway it was interesting as I have not been to Ireland since I was very young and I don't remember too much.
Both places are very rural. Not a lot to see.
