I'm sure has nothinmg to do with putting himself in the Euro 2004 shop window as i haven't heard of him having lined up a club for next season yet.

While not really caring oneway or the other if he comes back, its a bit selfish to bypass the long slog of the qualifiers and just go straight into the shopwindow of the finals. Theres probably a young player that had to sit on the bench when they were playing Uzbekistan or what have you that will be left at home now, not to mention one of the regular strikers that will be dropped. I understand why he did it though, he's going for his last big contract now, so I guess it'll do him no harm unless he gets injured, then he's f€cked!
