Cork millionaire Mr Pearse Flynn is set to invest and acquire Scottish premier league football club Livingstone who are currently in administration.

The club has a debt £7.5 million sterling. he is supposed to have visited the club and talked to both management and executives.
He is a lifelong fan of Celtic of Glasgow  in whom he he has invested £1 million pounds sterling.

As it stands the club will only have 5 players under contract for next season.

In the name of god why is he doing this. Cork City have a much better potential than this crappy crowd.

Livingstone attracted a crowd of 3,113 for their last match.

I know we've had our differences Eoin, but I have to agree with you on this. It's one thing the likes of McManus and Magnier investing in Manchester United, but surely people like Flynn and John Courtenay at Carlisle should be/have been targeted to get them to invest their money locally. The game in Ireland needs investment to help it grow and I'm sure these men would get a greater return and increased exposure by keeping their money in the eL.

Good point PP. Investing in Man U is a business decision, investing in Livingstone/Carlisle is either an ego thing or "for the good of the game" Can't see how they are more attractive propositions than Cork/Limerick et al
