Sky Sports intend to show the NFL Network's red zone channel instead of a game at 6pm. I've very much in favour of this

I dunno - Id rather watch a game myself. I have the iphone beside me to keep me up to date with the fantasy stuff and all the latest scores.
Some good games on next Sunday at 6 - they should show one of these.
On another issue - How about the last two games on Sunday and Monday night.
As a big Patriots fans - Monday nights performance was one of the all time greatest - to beat a 9-2 team by 42 points is some achievement and is testament to the coaching skills of Bill Belichick, not to mention Tom Brady who is on the way to becoming the most sucessful QB in the games history.
The Sunday night game was a titanic encounter, really gripping stuff from start to finish, one of the most intense games, non playoff i've ever seen.
The NFC is shaping up nicely as well with GB, Atlanta, and the Saints looking to lead the way not to mention Vick and the Eagles, great season so far.
Enjoyed the Ravens/Steelers game (as I always do - love watching both of these)
Fell asleep duing the Pats game. Thought they'd win but I think I underestimated how good Jim Leonhard is. Jets defence made look Texans-esque. nice scheming by Bellichek to keep Revis guessing.

I'm surprised you fell asleep, given that Brady was leading the Inchicore Warriors to the playoffs!
I can never stay up for these games anymore, I always block out anything NFL for the day and just watch it Mon / Tues evening after work. Its not as if anyone is going to come up to me at work during the day and say - "How about those Patriots eh ? "
Last two evenings were particularly enjoyable.

I think it would be nice as a red button option.
I tried watching it yesterday and it was ok in fairness, but i'd still rather watch a game. On the other hand most saturday afternoons I'd watch soccer saturday rather than whatever game is on setanta. Same thing really but redzone you actually see the scores.
Found it funny when the commentators on Redzone would say: "We don't do commercials here on Redzone", 1 play later sky cut to the ads!
Am flipin knackered from staying up for the Pats last night, lucky to win it but you can't have blowouts every week.
Looks like No Punt Intended are heading to playoffs as well !
Yeah, and the awkwardness of the Sky cuts didn't help in fairness

so it will be No Punt Intended and, if Visanthe Shiancoe gets 7.1 points against Da Bears, the RoughRiders? If he doesnt, then it will be WCE joining NPI, right?

Yes - thats exactly how I would see it also if its Points scored that is the tie-breaker, which I think it is. If WCE lose then both WCE and Bohs RR are both 8-7, Roughriders have more points scored.

I wasn't mad about Redzone until about midway through the third quarter of most games but then it really came into its own as the cuts between games (not just the Philly-NYG one) really brought the action home.

Shiancoe was unable to get 7.1 points, so its WCE in the playoffs. A big night for the bears DEF saw the Newbridge Jaguars defeat Bohs Roughriders anyway, who dropped to 7-8 and out of contention.
Therefore the playoffs are as follows:
#4 No Punt Intended @ #1 Southern Suns
#3 WCE @ #2 Inchicore Warriors

Final score in the final:
WCE 133.00
No Punt Intended 184.85
Saved my best week of the season for the final, some very average footballers having great weeks.
Well done to all who played and thanks to WexCar for setting it up.
Looking forward to the playoffs now some really good match-ups next week:
Saturday
NFC w/card New Orleans @ Seattle 9.30pm
AFC w/card NY Jets @ Indanapolis 1.00am
Sunday
AFC w/card Baltimore @ Kansas City 6.00pm
NFC w/card Green Bay @ Philadelphia 9.30pm
Tough games to call but I'd be amazed if NO don't beat Seattle. I fancy Indanapolis to beat the Jets who are not good enough offensively. The two games on Sunday are more difficult to call. If I was backing I would be inclined to back Baltimore and Philly but Green Bay on a good day are certainly good enough to win in Philly, no-one gives KC much of a chance but home field might be enough for them to scrape home narrowly but I doubt thier running game will be enough against the Ravens run defence.

1-1 so far this season and the Jets never showed up at Foxboro a few weeks ago in the AFC East game. Different kettle of fish now, and defensively and rushing the Jets are the most improved side in the league this year. Sanchez has come on a fair bit too. Certainly wont be a 45-3 job this time.28-24 Jets.

Think you're wrong on both counts. Last year they were phenomenal in both respects and the combination of LT and Green isn't as productive as Green, Thomas Jones and Leon Washington. Similarly in defence Revis has been injured all year and the loss of Jim Leonhard at the tail end of the season hurt hugely
Sanchez has improved but they're playing at a similar level to where they were last year (no bad thing...)

Thought the Ravens were going to run away with this one. The turnover by Rice was the big turning point. The Falcons are getting thrashed 42-14 as the 3rd quarter counts down.

Great call joeSoap, I think we all knew about the Jets defensively and rushing the football, but for me the performance of Sanchez was the key factor, he really stepped it up last night and added to that superb catch by Santonio Holmes at the start of the 4th quarter, gave the Jets enough scores to win the game. I didn't think they would be able to go into NE and score 4 TD's before the game.
Still think NE didn't play great. Crumpler's dropped pass early on turned out to be pivotal. And couldn't understand for the life of me the lack of urgency in the 4th quarter when they were 10 points down - there was 4 / 5 minutes run off the clock during that drive which were completely unneccesary Imo and that cost them any shot of a tie or a win at the end. To me it looked complete and utter overconfidence - I think Brady felt confident that they would eventually get it done - and they paid a very heavy price for it.
God I hate the Jets! :) :curse:
