Right, sticky one yet again. Will take a poxy 1-0 win and lets hope Lester keeps his elbows to himself this time round.
I see our cheerleaders gearing up again for this one, after the shambles that was half time at the Athlone game you have to wonder what the fcuk the club is playing at?????
GROW A PAIR OF BALLS AND TELL THEM TO FCUK OFF BEFORE THE REAL FANS FCUK OFF IN DISGUST.

Been told more then once now that they were getting rid of them are they just telling us lies or are they too afraid to tell em they are not wanted. Because i cant remember anyone thinking it was a good idea when they did it against Athlone the opposite in fact. Joke they are crap make a joke of us.
Agree with Monkfish on the match will take a scrappy win especially after Monday lads could be wrecked.

You'd rather stand at the gate for 90 minutes abusing no one?? :D
Abuse people before the game and for about five minutes after kick off.
Then up to Fine Wines and across to the CIE wall, jobs a good un. :victory:

Hi Lim fans no doubt your the favorites Friday night but i have a feeling we can nick it but all depends on performance and i just dont know if we will ever perform aswell as we did against rovers again for a long long time. But as for Limerick cheerleaders they will be there because i got an invite on facebook from them saying limerick fc cheerleaders half time show ect. I've never seen them perform but they seem to be doing very well for themselves so they cant be too bad

Limerick cheerleaders eh..I'll refrain from any stereotypical comments. For now. As for the match, well we've a terrible away record generally but if the confidence is up and we play like we did against Rovers we can get something definitely. 4-0 to Lims it is...

I'm judging that on the fact that their leader melissa o'connor has set up a huge dance school thingy and that their heading to vas for competeion soon and they have been in all the national papers and are getting photoshoots everyday but like I said I've never seen them perform so I don't know what there like anyway this is a footie forum not a dance forum so fck it who cares

I personally have no problem with the cheerleaders. I don't think they're an embarrassment to the club. If a few girls want to get some practice before they go off to....wherever they're going to, then let them at it. It makes no difference to me whether they're there or not.

Well seen as you haven't a clue why some of us don't want em there i think we won't give em a break.Besides them being complete crap that made us look like fools there is more reasons why we don't want them around the club.
And if thats what you think is good looking are you sure its us that are gay?
Only 2 of us that complained about em are in the stand by the way loads complained after Athlone that are not up with us at all.

Anyway has anybody any news on the injury front? Any players definitely out after Monday.
I'm thinking a draw depending on injuries.

No injuries and from what i'm told might even have Dave O'Leary back.
Also have Tracy,Heary,Rogers and Ryan that weren't there Monday so should be fresh.

We're a better team than Longford, and our position shows that.
However, we were very lucky not to concede against them before half-time the first time we played them in Jackman, although we ran out comfortable winners. And though I wasn't at it, we seem to have had a mightmare in Flancare.
I think that this team is its own worst enemy at times, because once we play well, we're a very very good team.
As long as the players are not too tired after Monday (and the post above suggest they're ok), I'll pray for an early goal and go for 2-0 or 3-0 to Limerick.

3 - 1, good game. Coughlan's strike was excellently taken, with Tracy and Clarke knocking in the other two.
Longford's penalty at the finish was fairly soft.
Also, attention was taken away from the cheerleaders and onto the very young streaker . . . strange, strange night :p

Good result even though I don't think Limerick performed great. Coughlan and Tracey got two nice goals.
Would love to see Tierney on the wing more. He's a constant threat with his pace and control. He was very dangerous against fingal and again tonight when he got out wide.

i thought we played well but i have to say longford town are the worst team since salthill to play at jackman this season they had one chance in the whole game in the 83min before that dave ryan might aswell of gone into the clubhouse for tea. ref gave them a pen in the last kick of the game and i still dont know what it was for i actually dont think anyone knows the longford player was running over to take a corner he even started laughing when the ref told him it was a pen.
another excellent young player in couglan coming through pace to burn what age is he lads??

The penalty was for a hand ball by Sullivan but it was very harsh. The Longford player kicked it off Sullys hand which was down by his side. Very harsh.

Informed wrong my friend.............I really dont see the issue with the Cheerleaders, 4 young girls enjoying themselves and doing what they love, so best of luck to them.........Maybe get them wearing something shorter than a white tee-shirt next game, shorts were perfect though..........that same young streaker somehow got on the roof of the chip van and urinated on the roof of same while up there, after his streak he grabbed each and every one of the cheerleaders ars*s and definitely got more than a handful, but at the end of the game he was crying coz he wanted free chips...................ha ha serves him right for p*ssing on the roof.............................

Yes its no surprise the amount of bull$hit thats come from some people in the club the last 2 days, 'nothing we can do' was the best one iv heard. So if anyone feels like a dance on the pitch at ht in future just go ahead, you'll even get the P.A. to announce your arrival and play you tunes.
The issue lads have is with the cheerleaders 'leader' who abused normal fans (including kids) a few months back while pi$$ed. This carried on to threats, abuse on facebook and through phonecalls. Commitee members witnessed this and promised several times they wouldnt be let near the club. (lies of course)
The very people who sell and buy the lotto tickets, buy programmes and raise money within the SC so to have money to sponsor the club in some way every year are the ones who are insulted by the clubs lack of respect on this issue.
Now if the club feels the need to sexualise young women/girls (what ages were they?) at ht instead to having kids games then thats fine, but now they have an issue of a child exposing himself, and then (what can only be described) sexually assaulting them after the cheerleaders decided to go over to him (probably the only bit of attention they got in fairness)

Despite what happened between the lads on the bus and the head cheerleader i don't think there would actually be many complaints about the cheerleaders if they looked professional, could dance and there was more than just four of them. The 4 of the girls looked absolutely lost out in the middle of the pitch and their dancing was awful. There are loads of good dance groups around Limerick. If Limerick want proper cheerleaders i suggest they approach these groups or just leave it.
By the way those girls have some neck on them going out in front the crowd in Jackman and doing that in fairness.
On another note i thought John Lester was the only Longford player that looked decent. Was never a big fan of him but up in Longford and again tonight he was very strong in defense.

Great 3 points, felt that the first went in against the run of play - but it was handy enough after that. Great strike by Coughlan for his goal, shame the penalty decision at the end was a complete joke on Sully. As for the cheerleaders...fair play to them on having a go - but Christ they are shocking. I reckon let the kids play football at half time like last season, or do a cross bar challenge with the crowd or something along those lines. Keep the girls around and have them do something more useful: like selling half time draw tickets, or walking around the ground trying to sell club merchandise, shirts, match programmes etc. Payment to them for such employment could be in the form of dance lessons! :)
P.S - Hooray for at the match beer :D

Scully kept the lads in for ages after the match and slated them bit harsh in my opinion but apparently it was about missd chances in recent weeks also (****ed off that Waterford beat Derry maybe)..
Garbhan and Tracy got 2 very good goals and i was delighted Clarkie got on the scoresheet how many times does he nutmeg defenders by the way every time he plays it seems.
We weren't our brst but i think we were comfortable.

Waterford 47

I thought Coughlan's goal was the perfect example of the rewards you can get when you put young players in the team...its so typical of a young player to have no problem in tryin those audacious shots without any fear. Have to say as well, I was happy to see the change in formation even though we didnt look entierly comfortable in it...it didnt allow Longford get anywhere near our goal to create chances. The only ones they did get was when we went to 4-4-2 and the game was a little more open for them in midfield. Good result overall though!!

as for the match itself Shanahan could have done better for the first goal ye should have scored a fourth goal near the end when he came charging out of goal for no apparent reason.. Best of luck for the rest of the season ye will do well I like to think..
