Two late red cards for Waterford and a good goal for them were the main highlights in a fairly uninspired match in the RSC tonight. With Anto back and Aidan injured, Wexford started Packie, Gareth, Wolfie, Anto, Hopper, Kevin, Shane D, Shane N, Greg, Gary and with Danny up front. First half was a poor affair with Waterford having a goal disallowed for a clear foul on Packie (yellow card given to the Blues forward) and with Wexford only creating one genuine chance when a good move found Hopper in the clear but his attempted lob went over the bar. Goal then came for Waterford out of the blue and was a good one with the Blues forward touching it off to the midfield runner who volleyed it first time from outside the box giving Packie no chance. One-nil to the Blues at half-time.

Shane S came on for Shane N at half-time and game then continued in uninspired manner with Waterford shading it. Game came to life in last 15 minutes when Waterford lost their first player for a straight red for a foul on Shane S. Slightly harsh I thought. Wexford then pressed more and the Blues then lost their second when former Wexford League player Paul Murphy got two yellows within ten minutes of coming on, the second for a dangerous lunge when he lost control of the ball. In the last minutes, Danny had a shot which went just wide with the keeper beaten while Anto had a good shout for a peno. waved away by a poor referee. Best for Wexford were Packie and Wolfie but didn't think the 4-5-1 worked tonight as the five man midfield couldn't really create anything and Danny got no quality ball up front. Late subs for Wexford were Daniel O'Flynn and Ben Ryan.

daniel o flynn played the whole second half looked a good player but not quiet up to pace of the games yet. imo both red cards where deserved both tackles studs showing. overall though poor performance from wexford i dont think the 3-5-1 is working to slow to get up and support danny and danny is to small to hold up the ball. i some what fear for us next week v shels with them on good run but who knows what will happen
