View Full Version : Fixtures for September 3rd
Fixtures for Friday May 28th were moved to the Saturday to avoid clashing with an Irish international (friendly).
I had assumed that the league fixtures scheduled for Friday September 3rd would also be moved to the Saturday to avoid clashing with the European Qualifier set for that day.
Apaprently now the game is kicking off at 4pm Irish time. Will this affect the dates for the LOI fixtures?
Obviously I'm most interested in the Galway/Pats game (and I'd prefer it to go ahead on the Saturday)

Its 5pm CET so that'd be 4pm irish time. marty the game's in Armenia so there's not much they can do.

I asked the same question on the Derry City forum.
Reply I got back from the club was that there was no word on switching our match with Waterford that Friday, although our match on Friday 8th October against Shels is being moved to the Saturday or Sunday because of the Russia game on the Friday.

I've a wall calendar in work that I put all the season's fixtures on when they came out. UCD v Drogheda is down for the Saturday. Haven't heard of any change, for what that means.

I presume as the Ireland game will be done before 6pm they are going ahead with the full programme. May put out some away fans who will have to listen on the radio, but shouldn't impact home attendences much.

No of course not. Just the other teams in our group, England, Scotland, and all the other countries are playing instead, with a good few of their games on live. Absolute lunacy to put our league games on the same night, and UEFA should ensure it doesn't happen again.

Near certain the DundalkFC v Bray game is on @ 7.45 too.
The match in Armenia should be over C. 5.45

Terrible for away fans having to travel on Friday with the Ireland match not finishing till 5.45 at the earliest.

Do Shams fans reckon the international will affect their crowd?

That's actually a great idea. Is the Lilywhite showing the game?
Good idea alright but not everyone can get the day off work or finish up too early. Most would be travelling on the supporters club bus which is probably only leaving about half 4 or 5.
