For last year,24 goals etc...MON picked up the award on his behalf,in fact feck all turned up to collect their gongs.

I saw the highlights of Dundalk's match there on UCD. McDonnell looked useful from just the small piece i seen. Has he played much this season for you's and would he be in the squad for the rest of the season?

I would say he'll be part of the squad alright. Very good player imo, one to look out for in future. And winning this award will just boost his confidence even more and drive him on.

Fair play to McDonnell. Hope Dundalk sign him up on a long term contract.

Out of curiousity - how does the League of Ireland even warrant a mention in the FAI's international awards ceremony ?

Is this just formal confirmation of what we've always expected - namely, that the EnglishPremiership is really our domestic league ?
