An early word on fridays game lads, the games cant come quick enough when things are going well.
You should see a good game of football and not a kicking competition as some of you are expecting. We've picked up one or two bookings this season and are not a dirty team by nature, we have Lester-Reilly as the midfield axis so the only battering you might take is on the scoreboard( :D ). The defence has been playin very well so there has been no need to resort to Waahurrford type 'football'. Upfront Doolo is still finding his best mix as he is with midfield.
I dont know how you are playing, not as good as you can anyway, so we have a decent opportunity of getting something from the game.
I really cant call this one at all, we were very good v Bohs and really crap v city, we will pick it up against you but how much is hard to say and I have no idea how you are playing but lets just say I'd find 8/15 very backable.
Hey Coltron...first of all well done on a good victory over Bohs..certainly got a few heads turning..i dont think City fans are expecting a kicking game from Drogs..i mean most of us dont really know your style yet since Doolin came in..i am sure its good considering you beat Bohs and are on a good run..
City fans dont really know what to expect from our own team either..played well against Pats in Dublin and then were awful against Shels here at home..i would take any sort of win and the 3 points..One good thing for Drogs is that John O Flynn is out for a few weeks but with the other 237 strikers we have we should be ok there :D
Anyway enjoy your trip if you are heading down..

Panic over nothing. This is the same squad as last year. And we finished third.
Added a few players, so we will be better this year.
Just got to wait til things settle down and we start to play as well as we can.
Coltron, no City fan is confident of a City win on Friday night.
A few sentences is a long time. :)
3-0 to the Rebel Army.

we'll win alright I reckon. Drogs have had a good start, but I'm surprised to hear allegations of a team managed by Doolin NOT trying to kick the crap out of the opposition. Hows lester doing incidentally- I saw him a few times when he was at Monaghan and i thought he was a very decent player. I'd have liked us to move for him when Bohs let him go to be honest

Lester is still finding his feet, gets stuck in but his play making ability still needs to be worked on. Reilly is one of the best in the league, good in tackles but also good at creating play. He isn't afraid to shoot from anywhere on the pitch and he will ht the target with 90% of his free kicks - excellent player.
Our strongest position at the moment is our centre backs, Gray and O'Connor are pure class and have not let a goal past them in the last four matches. O'Connor use to play as right back but the centre seems to suit him much better.
Up front Myler is always a threat and Rooney is a handfull for any defence but now freeman is getting back to fitness he is showing signs of being an excellent signings.
it will be tough for us against Cork in Turners Cross (always is) but hey you just never know.

From what I've seen and heard of Cork this season I think we have a very good chance of getting a result, a draw at least but you never know with you lot do you?? Hopefully our strong midfield will win out and if they do then I can see Myler banging them in :)
Incidently, I won't be able to make it down due to work commitments but I'm giving one of me mates some of our fanzines (1st issue) to give to the FouFiveOne lads.

If we turn up mentally we will give you a run for your money regardless of how well you play. We have kept four clean sheets, and boy they were clean, but the opposition still could have scored espesially in our last two games so you should get two-three good full chances. How the game will go will depend on if we score before them, then we stand a very good chance as we're a solid team and I think away games kind of suit us as we have a good counter attack and are a solid team over-all.
Agree with Sean on Lester, he can win every ball in the air when it comes his way but his distribution must be bettered and he rearly takes two touches of the ball before releasing it more often its contabutes to already stated poor distrabution.
