Site updated with the latest transfers, squad members and games played to date in the season: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/GameDayDetails

As always, if you notice any player missing or assigned to the wrong club, please inform me and I'll update it as soon as possible.

One new feature I've included is a list of currently unattached players: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/ClubDetails?clubID=0
At least, I was not able to find any record of these players current clubs. Again, if you know the correct club for any one of them, please let me know and I'll update it as soon as I can.

Mods: can you please make this thread a sticky at the top of the forum, as in previous seasons? Thanks

Tets, Should Terry Dixon be on the unattached player list?
There's an argument to include him alright. He never played for the first team, and, as a rule, I only track players who have at least made the bench for a club. If I did add him, there could be similar arguments made for every player released from reserve sides across the country. I won't be updating the site again until Friday, if people think he should be added then I'll include him in the update

Paul Green had a fine game for Derby against Leeds today. Made a very good run and a good pass for Derbys first goal.

He was busy and a nuisance all afternoon. Frequently muscled or just nicked the ball off the toe of Leeds players.

According to this he is:

Alan Lee found the net for the south London side on Saturday, but one to keep an eye on is 19 year-old Kieron Cadogan, who is apparently eligible for Ireland. Cadogan, ravenous against Leicester and one who is tipped for good things in the game, set up two of the goals in his team's 3-2 victory.

He got around the work permit problem for Derby because he holds an Irish Passport. That's good enough for me. Include him until he's called up for someone else.

Considering the lad is 17, some of the reaction is pretty nasty. A very brave move on his behalf and hopefully he won't cop too much crap from the fans when he plays.

Best Uncapped ROI X1 as at August 2010.
As a measure of what's coing behind the present squad - some are injured, but will make it to the team I think....
Murphy, Dunne, Duffy, Wilson, O'Connor; Bell, McCarthy, Meyler, Hoolahan; Murray, Walters.

Any missing talent?

sorry about the lack of updates recently, been really busy at work lately, and seemed to have picked up a variation of the plague recently.
The site itself has been updated recently

Just wondering if anyone would be willing to monitor McGeady or Sheridan's games outside England and Scotland?
I'll provide you with a link to generate the code I need to add to the site, it's just a case of answering these questions
who were the home and away teams?
what was the final score?
did the player start. was the player on the bench
was the player substituted, was the player introduced, and what time
did the player score, and what time. was it a penalty or OG?
was the player booked
was the player sent off and what time?

full credit will be given on the site for any work submitted

Sorry if this has been brought up on another thread, but does anybody know anything about Chinedu Vine? He's a Nigeran born youngster(Irish passport holder) who was recently picked up by Portsmouth from Home Farm. On other threads we've talked about how the kids of immigrants from Poland, Nigeria, Lithuania etc...might play for their parent's country, just like dozens in Britain have played for Ireland and I"m just wondering if he might declare for us because he's supposed to be a talented striker and we don't get them that often. Ciaran Clarke 20 Aston Villa, his father is from just outside Letterkenny in Co Donegal, his grandmother lives just outside the town in manor, played last weekend, I know he was captain off Englands under 19 team but certainly a fantastic prospect that we should be going after. Time to let Kilbane and McShane go out to pasture. They are not the future for Irish footbal, If they are its time to pack things up.

Ipswich's seven man bench had 4 Irish players - Brian Murphy, Shane O'Connor, Colin Healy and Conor Hourihane. However, only O'Connor made an appearance.

Carling Cup on tonight in England. Plenty of Irish in action but of most note in context of the Armenia game is probably that McShane was substituted on 22 minutes and St Ledger was substituted at half time, suggesting both got injuries of some degree. Defenders are rarely taken off that early. O'Dea was subbed on 60 minutes for Ipswich but it looks like it was part of a double substitution so was probably tactical or match fitness related.

I'll let Tets deliver the full details!
